Pinklon Thomas v Larry Holmes in 1984 ??

    If the Thomas that fought and beat a terrific Tim Witherspoon shows up he very well might have dedeated Holmes at that point .. that is the only version that just might beat that faded Holmes .. that Thomas was a hell of a fighter , a very short peak but damn !

    Like I said, I don't know, but it was more than taking weak fights, he flat out said he was not interested in Thomas.

    In 1984 I wanted to see this fight! (partly because at `12 I disliked Holmes due to his opponent picking and wanted to see him beaten!)

    I think Holmes pulls another great performance and wins a close, somewhat controversial even, decision.

    I have a lot of sentiment regarding this excellent post. I'm not sure Larry did everything better than Pinky at this time, however I think the former had more than enough ring experience and sophisticated ring IQ to still beat Pink by a somewhat disputed majority decision.

    The Holmes of 1980 gets mightily irritated with Thomas (Larry HATED guys with really good jabs), but in the end I see him battering and stopping Pinky in 11.
