Hagler would probably fight at 147 if he were around today.

Hopkins footwork and length is too much for Hagler to overcome IMO.

Only two outcomes exist for this fight.

The Marvelous One starts slow but his work rate grinds Hopkins down to win a wide unanimous decision.

Hopkins mauls, hugs, grapples, and runs to a split decision win over the the Marvelous One.

This is exactly what I was going to post. Hagler vs Crawford is a better fight.

Hopkins didn't even look that impressive agaisnt De La Hoya, and Hagler is bigger, stronger, with a big reach, a great engine, he has some springs on his feet, smashing lunging missiles jabs to hopkins face.
I would wager Hagler is the better body puncher and can take a Hopkins punch to throw down at the same time, huging him to death is the only way to Hopkins win. Trinidad is way smaller than Hagler, he fought at welterweight for a reason. If Calzaghe can slop his way to a win, Hagler can do way more.

There is a size difference here. Hopkins is 6'1 and Hagler is listed as 5'8.

Pretty sure when people do matchups like these they are talking peak prime versions.

The Hopkins youre referencing in your post was 3 months shy of 40 for Hoya and 43 for Joe.
