Only saw his pro fight and he was awful, just kept throwing telegraphed 1-2`s and got tagged several times, he was green as hell.
Too modern. Too retired. Too delicious. Orie dominates. Frazier's opponents were all three feet tall. Punching had only just been invented the year before.
Compared to nobody and that’s not the point anyway. Huni was an elite amateur who has been brought along slowly. It is impossible to know whether he is an elite professional or not at this stage. He’s had what, a dozen pro fights? He’s undefeated and passed every test so far. He may not have a highlight reel of one-punch knockouts like every second hypejob that people cream themselves about on here but he is starting to build a nice little record for himself and has put himself in the frame as a fringe contender. Whether he takes the next step, well we don’t know. But what I do know is that to write a relatively young, undefeated fighter off after a dozen fights is a fool’s errand.
Seems he looked realistically at his debut and realized the only thing he was going to get in a pro career is hurt. Good on him for realizing "yeah this won't be the path for me".
I feel bad for him to be honest he just realize the world between the professional and amateur boxing even on the elite level like Olympics. It's not the same sport at all.
