When was the first time you realised a fighter was 'Special' special?

When Loma made 4 consecutive fighters quit on their stool out of pure frustration:

    Nicholas Walters
    Jason Sosa
    Miguel Marriaga
    Guillermo Rigondeaux

The Proksa fight really impressed me.

Proksa, Pirog ans Golovkin were all euro level fighters and Golovkin managed to separate himself from the pack and this fight was the one that got me thinking he was actually going to be a special talent.

Good pick, Proksa was a very underrated fighter.

Jeff Fenech but it wasn't my opinion. It was my Dad's. First time Fenech was televised live on national television in Australia. In the very first round, my Dad said "This blokes the best we (Australia) have ever had".Approximately 40 years later and it's the majority view.

Ok, so, you've got to understand -- I grew up in the 80's and 90's. I'd seen plenty of Muhammad Ali's fights, but it was all post-exile Ali. I always assumed the love he was given as The Greatest was due to his activism and public image. I thought "ok, good fighter with a ton of social significance, I get it".

Then Youtube came around and his early fights started popping up. First time I saw his run from London to Folley, I got it.

When Josh Taylor wiped Dave Ryan out when Ryan had been a seriously hard fighter for many years at British level. Taylor mowed him down as if he was nothing, it was spectacular

Did Sosa really quit? I always felt like it was his corner who stopped it.
On that list of fighters, Sosa was the one who took a fallacious beating before the fight got stopped. It always bothered me that he got lumped in with the rest of them, because that fight did not end because Sosa was frustrated. The dude got his ass beat like a drum for 10 rounds.

I'd like to see Jake Paul mix it up with 6 time Mr Olympia Ronnie Coleman next, I can already hear Ronnie screaming "lightweight baby" at the press conference.

Usyk always looked special from the amateurs and WSB days, but that Gassiev performance in Russia when Gassiev was in his beastly undefeated prime holding 2 world titles. Gassiev had just looked superb in knocking out Dorticos. Bookmakers and everyone had it as a proper 50/50 fight going into it, just Usyk outclassed, outboxed, and dominated Gassiev beautifully. It showed he was more than special, he was super special.

When I watched 5 minutes of David Benavidez highlights years ago and instantly new Canelo would never step in the ring with him.
