I can see theoretically how the style of Haye is a nightmare for AJ. I agree completely.

My point is that AJ was already a broken man by the time he moved to HW, and he didnt beat anyone of note up there.

His career and reputation is based on prime performances at CW. Not on prime performances at HW. Those fights he had from 2005 to 2008 were his prime. He managed to roll back the years in that fight against Chisora though.

How many times did he pull out of the fight against Fury due to injury? At least 3 times from memory. He simply wasnt fit enough to complete a camp under Booth once he moved up to HW and be anything like the fighter he was at CW.

You're making a mistake. You're talking about all the things which happened to Haye and how he pulled out and all the stuff. Thing is...it doesn't matter for a fantasy matchup between him and AJ. If we talk about such matchups like AJ vs. Haye or Ali vs. Usyk and all the fantasy bouts people are discussing here, we're just talking styles/clash of styles and how they would match up in an encounter between two guys. I do not care about Hayes injuries, about him pulling out of fights 100 times....i just talk styles in here if i talk about such matchups. It makes no sense to me to talk about injuries Haye had if we talk a AJ vs Haye bout. Whats the sense? If you compare two guys like that you always need to take the best possible version. Doesn't matter if its a CW Haye version. I agree with your point regarding Haye. Prime Haye was a CW, nevertheless he has beaten a couple of decent/solid HWs in Chisora and Valuev.

Haye would have fought timidly and either gets stopped or lose on points.

If you think of it, Haye’s the smaller worse version of AJ. Both have shaky chins and suspect stamina. AJ’s a lot more skilled though and has a huge size advantage so I have no idea why anyone’s picking Haye here.

Both on their best form, for a one fight night only, I'm leaning towards Haye.

David Haye had explosive power . He troubled a peak Wladimir with his mobility and the fact that he had ko power . Joshua wouldn't do well against him . Haye by KO .

    Haye all the way.

AJ is effective only against mediocre opponents. Hyped much.

Tbh I think its actually a fascinating matchup.... I think they both bring a lot to the table that can really trouble the other. I think Hayes explosiveness and power could be a potential game ender for AJ. Likewise, AJs imposing presence, sometimes decent fundamentals, and his own power I think could give Haye issues.

I also think that AJ would be intimidated of Haye tbh.... and one thing about AJ is he doesnt perform at his best when hes intimidated. AJ is at his best when hes a cautious bully.

Very intriguing matchup its hard for me to really favor one over the other consistently, I think they both can win but I would lean towards Haye.

I think Haye has the edge mentally, and I think he would hang in there long enough to eventually land a bomb on AJ.... and I think once he takes the momentum from AJ, aj doesnt get it back.

One reason imo that Wlad had success against Haye (one of many, which is why Wlads an atg) is Wlad was fairly good at fighting cautiously long. I think that messed with Hayes ability to feel comfortable honing in on a target, as Haye is also a cautious fighter. AJs style is a bit more basic and he stands more upright, and his instincts arent as good as Wlads. I think Hayes able to take advantage of both of these things and not only would be more offensive than he was against Wlad but would also have more success with that offense.

So anyways, awesome matchup but I have to favor Haye here.

Joshua pre 2019 will win against David Haye prime by a big KO or TKO very badly in 7-8th rounds.

David Haye prime will beat Joshua currently by UD.

Anthony Joshua current version will win by KO 1 against David Haye 2017-2018 version.

AJ stops Haye. David was exciting, explosive...but so is AJ. AJ matches Haye's fitness, more than matches it, he is a better conditioned fighter, I think he has a better chin; could you see Haye getting up from Wlad or Dubois bombs? He is athletic and now almost laughably underrated in the revisionist was many love after a fighter loses. AJ whups Haye. He might have some moments, he was never 'comfortable' against smaller men with fast hands, but he will get the job done in spectacular style. Haye won't hear the final bell.

The fight is harder to predict than many think, Joshua would be the favorite but I wouldn't bet on him...
