Many peoples in the past was thinking before his fight with Naoya Inoue that Emmanuel Rodriguez "Manny" was the best bantamweight in the world and even after Naoya Inoue who moved up to the Super Bantamweight many peoples still thinking that before his lose to Ryosuke Nishida.

But the facts that he was a two time IBF World Champions but lost his belt all the times at his first defense.

Or do you think he will be a terror in the Bantamweight division if it was not the golden era of this division ?

As far as I know he tried some business outside boxing as boxing wasnt getting money at the time.
it was before the saudis came in and there was little life left in the sport then.
I guess he didnt make the coin he wanted.

A turd that gets polished to make Inoue's resume seem better than it really is.

Gifted boxer who could have easily have been the best in his division next to Donaire were it not for Inoue. Just never regained much momentum after the loss to Inoue. He got robbed against Gaballo right after although he did look really good when he beat Russell. Then retires briefly, makes a quick return to beat Melvin Lopez only to lose again against Nishida and hasn't fought since.

A rather underwhelming career for the most part for someone of his talent although it was still impressive how Inoue wiped him out easily at the time when he was considered the best guy in the division.

Nice fighter to watch with good punch variety and neat counters. Inoue absolutely wrecked him. That combined with Covid had him out for a year and a half. Then he's legitimatley robbed against Gaballo. Could understand if you wanted to hang it up at that point. Picks up a strap then gets beat by the talented Nishida while likely past it. Reitrement looms. Feels like he should have done more.

It's worth noting - seeing what Inoue has gone onto do at 122 - that The Monster was virtually mission impossible at 118. As it is with Ricky Hatton, while fans like to stick the boot in, we should always keep in mind who he lost to.

Overall a B+ guy. In that second tier of Inoue wins after Fulton and Donaire.

Is said resume still below Tanks, or has reality finally caught up?

Inoue has done exactly nothing since I posted that thread, so there’s your answer. If Tank finishes off Roach in the rematch, he’s back ahead pfp.

Gervonta is a 30 year old prospect who never fought the number one fighter in any division he has fought in and got a gift against a 130 pound fighter. Unless ppl only count fighters from Baltimore or only rate jokes and hype jobs He's not even top 20 pound for pound.

ManRod did look the goods. All things considered it hasn't been a bad career at all, but may not have lived up to his hype pre-Inoue.

Manny did successfully defend his belt in a title defense vs Jason Moloney which was a good scrap for the first round of the WBSS after winning a vacant vs Butler. I would not say he is overrated but more so that he has had a lack of opportunities to get the big fights. I'm pretty sure British media reported how ill he was while staying at the hotel for fight week vs Inoue but nonetheless an impressive victory. Burnett did vacate one of his unified belts to avoid Manny who was a mando, then there was Luis Nery coming in one pound overweight and the bout getting canceled, then Covid cancelling his plans to jump up to 122 to challenge Rey Vargas, then getting robbed vs Gaballo meant he could not challenge Donaire for the WBC belt he won off Oubaali. Maybe he did not live up to the hype especially after getting the Mayweather cosign, but he had a decent career being 2x champ and having some solid wins over Moloney and Russell who've beaten their fair share of bantamweight contenders
