Can’t find where this all-time classic clash of styles has been discussed yet. A dancing destroyer vs a rock of a man. Two bangers. Herbie is bigger and taller but more fragile. He’s also faster, but does he have the stamina and mental toughness? Let’s make this during Marciano’s day as far as rules and conditions, scheduled for 15 rounds.
I imagine Herbie's speed sees him take many early round but Marciano's stamina sees him take over and KO his opponent after the midway point
I, too, think the Rock rocks Herbie. He can dance but he can’t Hide. I do think Herbie is comfortably ahead for a while and probably gets an early knockdown. He could absolutely punch. You can see Riddick Bowe, who had a solid set of whiskers, bristle and reconsider after tasting Herbie’s punch solidly the first few times.
This isn’t the type of fight you’d want Rocky to lose or even imagine very easily when comparing resumes. But I can see Hide presenting a threat. For all his shortcomings he was quick, strong, hard hitting, well conditioned and bigger than the average Rocky opponent.
Hide is one of the few more modern heavyweights that i could see Marciano reasonably beating, not overly good at anything minus being extremely hard hitting, not overly big, not much of a distance fighter, dont think he was on TONS of PEDs, just a lower amount. I'll go with Marciano here
Hide loses this fight two weeks before it happens when someone looks at him funny in a queue to pick up his dry cleaning....
