Floyd should be favourite, but Benitez would be the hardest fight of his career. Very possible it's a draw, or a close decision either way.

It is a strange argument because neither Floyd was an impressive offensive fighter.

I would say he was a better counter puncher? He seemed a bit more purposeful with what he was doing Benitez was lots of flash like Ali.

This is a hard one, could be a narrow MD/SD either way, maybe even a draw.

IF Benitez actually trained and prepared properly I think he wins pretty easily at WW. If he exhibited his typical "laissez-faire" approach to preparing for a fight I still think he squeaks by-but it would be a much closer fight.

Pretty easily? Why do you think so?

The Gatti fight was a more impressive offensive performance than Benitez had in his career.

People just seem to forget that Floyd was fighting out of his weight class at 147 that and hand problems limited his offense as he got older.

He and Hopkins were two guys who could significantly slow down the output of their opponents. Most fighters don’t last on top because they aren’t skilled enough to do that.

At WW Benitez was bigger and stronger than Mayweather--better offensively and had a defense as good as Floyd's. (Mayweather's KO rate at WW was around 25% if I'm not mistaken. He simply isn't powerful enough-and the areas where he excels Benitez was just as skilled. Benitez at WW is a much harder puncher than Floyd.)
