Don't think Ben actually says what your suggesting. He said it's the end of the cycle and there's some big news coming. From what I can tell, boxxer have options and they're trying to negotiate a deal with sky and be non exclusive as it seems they have an offer elsewhere too, although I can't tell you where that offer is from...maybe dazn or tnt I have no clue tbh but I can tell you that boxxer have a good contract offer from somewhere. My best educated guess is 8 fights a year with sky and another good deal elsewhere. As long as sky agree that's how it'll go.
HBO and Sky were the GOATS of boxing broadcasts. Darke and McCrory were a great team, Showtime was also good back when Bobby Czyz was on.
The irony is that it was Adam Smith who kept boxing on Sky after Hearn left via Boxxer and Top Rank. He should be commended for that. Sadly he got the boot from Sky for whatever reason and now we got him joining Parsons etc towing the party line on Dazn. The worse commentator in sports on every weekend.
ITV have had enough of BGT, Love Island et al and are going balls deep as I would in Maya Jama for the boxing. Bringing Take Me Out and Harry Hill’s TV Burp back while they’re at it.
Bring back the holy trinity of TV burp, Saturday big fight live, and Jeremy Kyle and nature will restore itself
One of the key ingredients to Skys decline with both MR & Boxxer is ****ing women's boxing. The amount of time effort and money wasted on a niche of a niche. It's beyond brain dead. Frank the dinosaur knew what the market wanted and it isn't area level fighters slapping each other in so called world title fights
Rumour is that ITV producers are eyeing up eddie hearn, his missus & that little australian bird for the jeremy kyle show on PPV
Think of all the brilliant fighters frank has signed whilst Eddie and Ben having being spaffing about with Shannon Courtenay etc etc. Frank's basically had an open goal to get fighters like Hamzah, Nick Ball, Moses Itauma etc. I can't believe Frank's basic ignoring of the Women's side of the sport isn't part of the reason he's now the best UK promoter
For Context on Boxxers website they have 24 boxers in total, men and female. Queensberry has 19 heavyweights
There were more on there that have just recently been removed like Isaac Chamberlain, Chris Kongo, Zak Chelli, Scott Forrest, Lee Cutler. Dylan Cheema, Michael Mckinson
