Credit for the idea goes to @Fabiandios as I just took his Ali thread idea and made it welterweight. Which of these six has the best odds at defeating a prime 147 lbs version of Sugar Ray Robinson?

Spence or maybe Cokes. With that said, Spence was a huge Welterweight and would not make 147 in Ray's era. I still think Ray beats all of them but Spence sheer size and athletic ability gives him a chance.

Please stop trying to bait fans of 1970s heavyweights for a moment and tell me who you think has the best chance?

It’s most likely Curtis Cokes just I’m not overly familiar with the rest and wouldn’t like his chances overly.

The only 147lber I’m confident in is Jose Napoles and I wouldn’t make him the favourite, I don’t think I’d make anyone the favourite.

The Honeygham that fought Curry had a small shot of being challenging with his speed and power but I can't see anyone beating that Robinson.

People talk about what if Hearns had a chin? That he’d be the GOAT…. He already existed but better lol TH fell short of Robinson he was Robinson “lite” minus a chin.

Curtis Cokes for me, the man was a superb practitioner. As good as he was it's not going to get him far with SRR tho.

Jackie Fields is the wild horse.

    Hi Guys.
No love for Kid Lewis, the iron boned brit was a hard and skilled fighter, he gave Leonard a torrid time according to reports, had no fear of taking on full blown world class MWs whilst just above 147, had the termirty of taking on a natural LHW in Carpentier, and apparently wanted to fight Dempsey had he won against Georges, I feel he would have given Robinson all he could handle, and them some.
    stay safe guys, chat soon.
    Mike.
