@Bfcad will be upset about Shalom losing his sky deal. He was Boxxers number 1 fan.. and probably the only person who regularly bought tickets for their shows.
Dave making a comeback to boxing? Who in their right mind would give Shalom another deal after what he's done at Sky
It will be a shame if Sky leaves boxing, particularly for the younger fighters who really need the exposure. I remember the Prizefighter days. Going further back, the Friday night small hall shows at York Hall. I used to enjoy watching Ian Napa fight. Good times.
The Top Rank show tonight with the now cancelled Keyshawn Davis fight isn’t scheduled anywhere on Sky, it’s not hard to imagine that deal was running concurrently with the Boxxer contract as both were signed when Hearn left. DAZN have been advertising Usyk vs Dubois 2 as exclusive in the UK with no Sky coverage so it seems they won’t even be showing the Sausi ppv’s.
Who is even behind Ben Shalom? The bloke popped out of nowhere. It's like Spencer Brown who was apparently working in a Fury merchandise shop selling t-shirts and mugs, and all of a sudden he's a front man for you know who.
Viewing figures for boxxer have been abysmal. No star quality, production awful and great to give fighters any gender exposure but trying to make out Lauren Price v Natasha Jonas was a fight the Nation was talking about 'gloves are off' SSN interviews etc, sadly it is what it is. Niche sport, marginalised even more. Lot of the male fighters unheralded, most of the women's fights even less casual interest, sad truth.
He was around for a few years before the Sky deal doing the ‘Ultimate Boxxer’ tournament that was on BT. Think Malignaggi was involved in it. Companies House is a bit hazy. The other director of Boxxer is a person called Thomas Gillie who’s only other listed company has £15 in the bank and zero employees
