It would be a war. Lots of grit would be in that ring. If the Sam Peter who fought Wladimir Klitschko the first time shows up I might make him the favorite. But if he’s not at his best this is a fight that Chisora might steal away from him

Peter, and it shouldn't be close.

If it was, then it would be a damning indictment on the politics of that era.

How do you figure it wouldn’t be close ? Chisora has given a lot of good fighters some damn tough brawls and has even upset a few

Then please take this as a salutary lesson about the dangers of Boxrec.

If Boxrec was all that you had to work with, you would see that Peter was a champion who had beaten a number of contenders, while Chisora had lost every important fight of his career.

    Until recently at least.

That aside, Peter should get it at his peak.

Chisora for me. Peter was largely a creation.

Peter stops Chisora. I think he hit harder and he's more durable. Is Chisora even the more skilled guy here ? Idk

It would look like the Carlos Takam fight.

Takam boxed at a higher skill level than Peter.

Robert Helienus played with Peter before putting him to sleep in the starfish position.

Chisora beat Helenuis from pillar to post and got robbed blind.

Peter was finished when He fought Helenius.

Also - Takam was beating Chisora "From pillar to post" before hail-mary overhand right - so are You predicting come from behind 1 punch knock-out for Dereck here?

Takam was up every round yes but not beating chisoro from pillar to post . Not accurate description.

Takam was defensively responsible and out boxing on the back foot.
Takam was doing the exact same to Povetkin for ⁵ - 6 rounds.

Peter isn't defensively sound like Takam. He feeds into chisora strengths.

Chisora has given much better fighters a hard time, less stationary fighters like, even Usyk, I understand the style differences and I consider it, and there’s nothing that suggests Peter would deal with Chisora easier than Usyk, whom Chisora gave a decent fight.

Chisora could land on Peter, Peter isn’t staying away consistently, he’s gonna have to fight him at times and Chisora is obviously gonna have success up close considering that is where he’s at his best, and Peter doesn’t have a great defence himself.

Ftr, I think Peter takes the fight, with his jab and boxing at range making the difference, but he can’t stay away so much that Chisora doesn’t get a look in, he just doesn’t have the footwork or speed to stay away, unless you also think he dominates him in a fight also, and Chisora isn’t competitive, which I’d have to disagree.

Chisora was taking more punishment against Takam than Helenius was against Chisora - so if Your description of the latter fight is accurate, then it's certainly suitable for Chisora vs Takam also.

Takam wasn't really boxing. He was mixing things up, but for big portions of the fight He had Chisora on the ropes, pumelling him with combinations.
You pick who You pick - it's a good fight, I just thought it was a bit strange choice of a fight to draw correlation to. Do You see Peter out boxing on back foot against Chisora and Dereck hurting Peter to score a stoppage from behind from behind? Pretty wild scenario.

I'd lean to Peter in his prime. Chisora has far greater longevity and despite never winning a title, probably has a better career overall - but Peter was a bit better in his prime to me. He was stronger and heavier handed - and at his best could keep just as good of a pace as Dereck.
