Zurdo is challenging everyone and making fights happen. If he beats Dorticos then Opetaia is next, yet still Zurdo gets ****. It´s absolutely baffling.

Opetaia is promoted / managed by Eddie Hearn, Mick Francis, and most importantly Spencer Brown of Goldstar Promotions who has a close relationship with “His Excellency” Turki Al-Shaikh. Opetaia had 3 fights on Riyadh Season against Ellis Zorro, Maris Briedis and Jack Massey. Of course they talked about unifications but Zurdo and CBS didn’t want to fight Opetaia and ended up fighting each other. I’m pretty sure CBS accepted less money to fight Zurdo than Opetaia.

I can’t believe you’re asking if Opetaia reached out to anyone to make the Zurdo fight when he had a 3 fight contract with Riyadh Season and is managed / promoted by Spencer Brown and Eddie Hearn who are influential in making fights on shows paid for by “His Excellency”.

 

This is such BS. Basically Opetaia can´t do anything wrong, Opetaia is a good boy, everyone has to chase Opetaia. Meanwhile Zurdo is the one making unification fights happen(yes, Opetaia is next), yet he gets shat on.
Without Zurdo, there would be 0 unification fights in the division. In fact he is the first man since Usyk to make one happen. But go ahead, keep calling him a duck.

 

Opetaia is trying to make those fights, reportedly willing to take money from his own purse to help persuade the other fighter, but still none of them have fought him.

Why the **** would Opetaia reach out to CBS? CBS and RR have been running for the hills ever since Opetaia almost killed their mate Jordan Thompson. The won’t fight Opetaia because they know what will happen. Nor will old man Badou Jack who is smart enough to know that Opetaia is far too much for him. So that leaves us with Zurdo, a guy with the belts who Opetaia has been calling out for at least 12 months now.

It is the only fight that makes sense for Opetaia and every fan who loves the sport. However we have Zurdo fighting Dorticus, for **** knows what reason. If he doesn’t sign on to fight Opetaia immediately after winning that fight it’s a duck.

For now Zurdo gets the benefit of the doubt but logic says that Opetaia is not the guy holding up the division. He’s already beaten the second best guy in it twice. The only, and I mean the only guy left that makes any sense at all for Opetaia is Zurdo. And anybody who knows anything about boxing knows that much.

 

How many CW's are there in the division? Just because he can't get the top 3 doesn't excuse him for fighting bums not even ranked in the top 50, over and over

 

You’re as stupid as the other guy. Let me make this simple for you…the likes of CBS, RR and Badou Jack do not want to fight Opetaia because they know how that ends. What do you expect Opetaia to do? He wants to fight Zurdo so he can unify and move up to HW. He’s stated this openly. The problem is, and being kind to Zurdo here, is that Zurdo has a mandatory with Dorticus and hopefully the unification bout then takes place next up.

But Opetaia can only fight who is willing to do so. And most of the other top guys are scared of him so he’s left fighting the next tier down, the guys who can’t turn down the payday.

 

Good! That's all we're asking for. Fairly or unfairly, rightly or wrongly, this is the CW fight fans want, and have been pining for over an extended period of time. I promise not to beat up on Zurdo (figuratively of course ) .... unless fall rolls around and we're still waiting for progress on the talks....

Opetaia is going to demolish anyone else at CW at this point. Zurdo, Smilliam Bith, whatever.

I seriously think for humor value he should take out Lerena and Gadzhimagomedov, become undisputed at Bridger, on his way to HW.

 

The user is purposefully being dense. CBS accepted less money to fight Zurdo instead of Opetaia. Since Opetaia had a 3 fight deal with Riyadh Season, CBS and Zurdo were offered to fight Opetaia obviously and they both declined.

The Dorticos fight was ordered over a year ago, right after Zurdo won the WBA belt. They allowed him to unify with CBS.
