I would lean towards Itauma not having a great chin

Fury was told by his trainer he'd land the RH on the mma fighter and go home in a few rounds.
They didn't take it seriously and prepare properly because they're morons, particularly the trainer.
When Fury prepares properly we know what happens.

There are only two known ways to beat Fury
    1. Be Usyk
    2. Be a KO artist and land more than two bombs on his head in a round. (Still unproven but it must be possible).

Until someone other than Usyk can outbox him, nobody should be talking about all these non-KO-artists beating Fury. And let's not forget that Wlad and Wilder were the biggest KO artists at the time and Fury survived both.

Itauma has a thick neck and is naturally very heavy set. While not a guarantee it does point to having a decent chin.

He also has a very relaxed and efficient style so don't have worries about him wasting energy and not being a full 12 rounds fighter.

Itauma has a pretty square jaw, big head, thick neck, broad back, and has pretty big legs too. If anything, he has pretty much every quality that traditional boxing knowledge tells us are indicators of a good chin. Even fighters with ATG chins don't like getting hit. No-one likes getting hit, especially against people who have trained their entire lives to punch other peoples' heads as hard as they humanly can.

Dunno the hell why, but I've got a gut feeling his chin and blow receiving reactions may be similar to Mike Tysons...

He's definitely got my positive interest in his career going forwards. We'll all know soon enough if he's for real.

Can you tell me why Dubois isn't just Whyte 2.0?

Better balance, better movement and much faster feet, tidier technique, better jab, better stamina and work rate, more athletic, more powerful. Also better at pressuring opponents. The only thing prime Whyte did better than Dubois was counter punching.

It's a different kettle of fish at HW - only about half a dozen ever have had truly granite chins. Aside from them, most can get flatlined with the right shot, Lennox Lewis did, Tyson did, and Ali did by Henry Cooper. I suspect Itauma won't be any different. I think his speed, agility, and ring IQ, combined with the fact that the rest of the prospects at HW are absolute dog****, means he's not going to get truly chin-tested for a while.

Lol the chin discussion starts before we even have any kind of evidence to judge it. People are apparently so keen on criticizing professional heavyweight fighters' chins.

I think chin also depends on mindset. Some fighters tuck down the whole fight as they are hit heavily multiple times per round and their chin looks great. Others box with technique and quickness and stay relaxed and if they are caught they fall. Being prepared or at least seeing the punch coming in the last split second makes a huge difference.

Looking at Ali: He was dancing like unbelievable when young. Got caught by Henry Cooper and it looked worse than Frazier hellish left that dropped him years later when he wasn't as quick anymore. Then against foreman he basically could take everything from one of the best punchers ever. He saw every punch coming.

Tyson had a great chin. Was really difficult to hurt with a single punch or combo. His issue was poor recovery. Once hurt, he didn’t really recover.

I dunno what you mean by that Arch ?

Tyson had a very good chin he fought some big punching KO artists like Ruddock, Bruno, Bonecrusher, and his chin was tested and passed the test especially in the Ruddock fights.

Even in Tyson's losses he took beatings before finally succumbing.

I remember even Lewis saying he was surprised how many flush punches Tyson took off him.

I know, lol, I meant it as it is and was just aligning him too Mike to compliment his KO ferocity. He's the new Tyson, right?. ;)

Mike's chin WAS decent enough. I think Moses's will be too.

    We'll all know soon enough.

    I'm betting it Is.

    Just like Mike's!

Could be that he's packing glass - many fighters have less-than-sturdy mandibles. The truth will be revealed when he faces some live bodies.
