There’s a blast from the past. Such a wasted talent and not naturally suited to bareknuckle.

    Will try to watch that.

I think he will tear it up there. His skill level is elite and all he needs to do is be aggressive but respect defence when going forward.

Is seven years long enough to recover from what Lejarraga did to him? I'm not too sure.

It will be really depressing seeing someone with the natural talent of Gavin getting laid out by some knuckle dragger.

He will do the business. Accuracy in BK is underrated. He doesn't need to have power, he will hit the opponent enough to do plenty of damage.

When Frankie Gavin got arrested for that pub brawl, he sucker punched one of the bouncers and the reason why the bouncer didn't initially report it to the police when questioned is because he didn't even know it had happened until he was shown the cctv footage.

Absolutely the worst kind of fighter to have a got at bare knuckle. We all saw what happened to Paulie Malignaggi when he lost to a complete nobody.

Paulie was pathetic but he was always goosed in that fight because his hands are brittle. There’s no point going into a BK fight if you have bad hands because they will let you down instantly.

PMSL though at that pub brawl story.

The problem is Gavin was never dedicated when he was active and had it all to play for. He missed out on the Olympics because he couldn't be bothered to keep his weight down and failed to make weight a few times as a pro. And it wasn't just his lack of punch power that was a problem either. His strength, conditioning and overall physicality really let him down more than anything, which was no doubt a result of his lazy training and poor diet. His fight against Kell Brook in particular was like watching man vs boy in this regard.

So god knows what he'll be like now at 40 and after several years out of the ring. Especially when I assume he's going to be up at a much higher weight and fighting younger, naturally bigger men who will also most likely be fitter than him too.

No doubt there will still be fighters on the BKF circuit he can beat on skill and experience alone, as the standard often isn't great. But anyone bigger, younger and fresher with a bit of something about them will most likely batter him on those attributes alone in a sad to see spectacle.

BKFC happy to get a few ex boxers that are names sink or swim.

Gavin won't be heavily motivated probably give him a opponent he can beat then throw him in against one of the better younger lads.

Pretty sad to hear but fighters being skint and coming back for even pretty poor purses happen.
