Turki has some ideas he hasn't got around to implemented yet that may further improve things too.

    The money and the media.

More media with more high profile interviewers.

Any fights you're looking forward to? Prospects? Maybe a division you're excited about?

    In all honesty, not much.

I remember when name fighters and champs routinely fought two, three and even four times a year.

When boxers are fighting every three months, there is plenty to talk about.

When they fight once a year, not so much. The sport loses all momentum.

It just kinda sucks right now, honestly. Usyk will fight once this year. Joshua MAY fight once. Nothing is scheduled. Fury isn't scheduled to fight at all. Parker and Kabayel may be done for this year.

I think there were more fights happening during Covid.

Ok a lot of negativity here and I think a lot of it is deserved. But I love the idea of this thread and I think there are good things, too.

I think one can be very hopeful since the saudi prince has made boxing his favorite pastime apparently and actually gives us great fights at least from time to time. Fights like beterbiev bivol are all time classics and if he can make more of them that is obviously fantastic. Maybe he is learning on his way, too. In the future I hope he skips matches where guys like canelo take easy touches and only pays them for competitive matches. Let the odds decide and only have fights with at least 60-40 odds.

A second thing to be excited about is that in the last year or so I recognized, that the best fight cards tend to come from golden boy because their matchups are actually often quite competitive. I start to care less about the spoiled a-list boxers like joshua and canelo that only fight once a year. If you stop waiting for them and instead watch out for mexican matchups where both are like 17-2 or equally japanese ones - you'll have a hell of a time. They put in the work and there is zero bs in those fights. Also there are so many moments where one gets pleasantly surprised by fighters one has never heard of but will follow from then on.

Boxing still has a lot to give, it's just that the media will promote the divas and bring all the ducking and maneuvering into play that we hate and since they mostly talk about those... So the more one watches boxing and the less one follows specific spoiled fighters and their latest statements on social media, the happier one will be with the state of boxing.

The last thing i will mention is the beauty of the sport. The sweet science. As a viewer I recognize that I am learning all the time. Like with any art, be it music or paintings one develops a taste for it and there is so much to learn. A year later you watch the same fight and see different things. You value different things. This alone makes boxing better with time. The more you invest into watching fights, the more you get back. And it is a lovely subject to discuss!

Nothing as of right now. Boxing right now IMO isn’t in a great spot.
