A pair of Greek-Aussies who campaigned primarily at 135 & 140 in adjacent eras (just yay too far apart to have linked up), both of middling ability by world class standards but making up for it with heart to spare.

You could almost consider this a rematch (and bill it as such) of the Battle of Megalopolis - with GKJ being of Spartan and Kats of Macedonian descent.

Best for best - which I think we can probably all comfortably agree in terms of top form would be their respective performances at LW against Teófimo Andrés López and Kevin Mitchell? So the Kambosos of 11/27/2021 versus the Katsidis of 5/15/2010.

I'm leaning slightly toward The Gladiator (yes he had a fourth nickname which wouldn't fit in the thread title :sisi1), just because he was such an adept body puncher and Kambosos has been done in twice now by body shots - against Lomachenko and Hitchins. Then again, the Sydneysider is no slouch himself in that department and we did see the native of Toowoomba visibly affected by work downstairs (at the hands of El Cepillo & JMM) so there is a chance, albeit lesser, for that very scythe to cut the other way.

I can envision a twelve round see-saw affair with the judges split in their verdict, both combatants' swollen beyond recognition as they hug it out in the aftermath before going out for a celebratory pint or eight together.

Great match up. I think both guys were fairly limited fighter although I think Katsidis was even more so. Katsidis' defense was non existent but he did have power in his left hook. Kambosos probably the more skilled boxer and counter puncher who would definitely do better with someone like Katsidis.

Would have been a war with both guys bloodied up. Both at their best I'd pick Kambosos by a kangaroo's hair.

Katsidis wins 9 times out of 10

Though if that one night wonder Kambosos from the Lopez fight turns up, then George wins.

I was impressed consistently a lot of more with Katsidis. Kambosos only ever looked good ONCE.

Prime for prime it would have been an absolute New South Wales v Queensland war.
Katsidis was the bigger puncher but Kambosos I reckon was quicker it would've been a good clash of styles.
I could make a case for either guy winning.

Yep a lot of people are basing it on George's last few fights but the Kambosos who beat Selby and Lopez was coming in hot. His speed and counters would have caused Mick a lot of problems.

The one thing that might swing this in George's favour is that his strengths are when he can counter on the back-foot, and Katsidis will come forward and force the fight all night, so that plays into Kambosos strengths.

That said, I think Kats would wear George down to the body and stop him late, likely being down on the cards
