Unlike fakers Carnera was the undisputed HW champ. Holmes and Wlad didn’t have all the belts thus shouldn’t be mentioned in the same breath as classic “ard men” like Ingo, Carnera and Braddock back when the belt meant something.

    Klitschko.

Its hard to tell though because Carneras best punch was his jab. He wasn't swinging for the fences per say.

Carnera stood on his toes most of the time, the Incredible Hulk couldn't punch hard while standing on his toes. PC was a big, strong guy and probably would have good power if he had been taught to get off of his toes, and had a good base to punch from. WK had good punching technique.

Wlad all day long. His right hand down the pipe was a WMD.

Wlad's straight right and his left hook were both upper tier elite in terms of power. And rather than be a reckless homerun swinger, he also threw these punches very technically correct, limiting countering options for his opponent.

What Carnera did in the ring was barely even the same sport.

Carnera punched like he was muscle bound but when he put his weight behind a punch he could stun a guy weighing 70 pounds less. Also he was no innecent bystander when it came to fouling. Sometimes he appears to hit with his forearms and elbows. He could maul effectively because of his size and strength. But Klitschko was definitely a stiffer puncher.

Wlad is basically the perfect 6 6 HW thats not really a diss.

I'm dismayed at the lack of nuclear related verbage in this post.

Wlad could be the biggest puncher ever, not even close.

    Wlad has got it.

If Carnera had hit as hard as Wald, you would have been seeing some real destruction against the smaller heavyweights of the day.

I’m going to say Klitschko because on average he regularly fought much larger men than Carnera did yet ended up stopping about as many people

For some context on Wlad's power he has stopped 19 guys who have never been stopped before and this is a era were the average heavyweight was 230+ pounds.

I think it would be a while before we see someone repeat something like that again.
