I don't know if anybody remembers this but Shavers had stamina issues that made 'young' Foreman look like Marciano. He fought Ali close and that automatically makes him better than he was because Ali is 'the greatest' and he proved it by beating the dangerous Earnie Shavers. Now, Shavers hit hard, especially with his right hand, and that was because he brought it from down home and got his weight way over his left leg.
At some point, and anybody that has seen Toney fight knows this is true, Shavers is going to throw that home run good night right. And miss. And he is going to get countered with a right hand that he has just turned into and doesn't see coming. He may well survive that, but he wasn't known for his chin.

This is a 80-20 fight in favour of Toney and it's only because Shavers get's a "punchers" chance against a Rhino.

He would but then the drug tests would come back and the fight would be ruled a No Contest.

Yeah probably but if it was the 70s he'd be fine.

Toney was in awe of the crude, clubbing Samuel Peter's punching power and said he was the hardest hitter he faced.

If Toney got nailed by Shavers, he would be more shocked than a kid sticking a fork in an outlet. If you consider that and how much he struggled with the somewhat similar Rahman, I don't see Toney pulling this off. Shavers doesn't need to outbox Toney, he just has to make him as uncomfortable as possible using his absurd power, looping shots, and body battering to make the black Pillsbury doughboy turn purple. Shavers will be hitting shoulders, chest, neck, whatever is available and it's going to hurt like hell making Toney hesitate and hide in his Philly shell.

Nahhhh - and Toney’s style isn’t called “Philly shell” either that’s a fan term, it’s a BS thing made up by the Bert Sugar types. This is early HW late Cruiser JT not the 250lbs version against Samuel Peter who was in no way close to KOing Toney, literally no danger when I saw that bout - same as with Rahman a way bigger, way stronger, insanely busy fighter lol.

Don't reply to me unless you're ready to name any fighter other than Joe Louis who was considered to have a good chin, good balance, yet had 10 knockdowns in 7 fights with 2 KO losses

Shavers had the potential to go further than Samuel.
    Against Toney at least.

Well Shavers did manage to beat cagey defensive fighters such as Young or the cautious Bugner. Out of all the old school sluggers, he's got a pretty good shot here.

Pedantic stupid question no offence. If a guy has two KO losses in 69 bouts his chin is fine, nothing wrong with it like I’ve said half a dozen times to you, I never said he was Chuvalo and made that clear - if you think Louis had balance issues you fundamentally don’t understand what you’re looking at lol.

Yes, and while it seems Young might’ve been robbed of decision in the Shavers rematch (an official draw) it shouldn’t be over sighted that Earnie still managed to drop Jimmy hard again in the 4th round of their second fight - no mean feat to do it once but Earnie turned the less likely trick twice, the second time against a more seasoned Young.

No, what's stupid is you never managing to answer direct questions and then wondering why people don't like you. You fundamentally don't know how to carry a simple conversation or debate, and you waste time on purpose.

Plenty of people here like me what are you talking about? - you’re trying to “force” me to make one of two false admissions by using a pedantic line of questioning as a “gotcha” you got an answer - Louis’s chin was pretty good, not Chuvalo just a guy who defended his title for longer then anybody else with mostly just a few flash KD’s… he was stopped twice in 69 fights? How isn’t that an answer? There’s your evidence his whiskers are not an Achilles heel at all. it only gets worse when you try to say “Louis had slow feet, Louis had bad balance” it’s like arguing with a hen when you are operating on that world view, I can’t budge you with any logic if that’s the case lol.
