This. Zhang is one of my favorite fighters but his last two outings have been mediocre he’s been unable to put the finisher on his opponents after knocking them down.
Forget George Foreman, Zhang would destroy Moses Itouma right now. Don't let the Itouma fanboys like those panelists at talksport boxing broadly claim that Itouma would beat Zhang now without actually fighting him. Make the fight now and prove it.
Zhang? , the mummy who fought a draw with the terror Jerry Forrest, outboxed by Parker and Hrgovic and taken apart by Agit Kayabal ,and who's best wins are over a washed out 38 year old Joyce will beat George Foreman....
Big Bang is 6'6", Big George is 6'4". George has a sledgehammer jab, good chin and much better stamina, and possibly a better ring IQ. I don't think it would be too easy for Zhang. We've seen Big George fight through fatigue and come out on top. Zhang falls down when his stamina is depleted by the 5th. Zhang may very well win, but not like you say. If he doesn’t get George outta there by five, my dude will be in for a rough 7 rounds. Especially if it is a post Ali Foreman who learned how to pace himself.
Put it like this, it definitely ain't going the distance. Although the fight WOULD last longer than the OP's ESB membership has....but along with a very similar definitive ending.
I like Zhang. He’s fun to watch and can crack no doubt. But 2nd career Foreman would survive the early onslaught and probably survive all 12 rounds and maybe lose a close decision. George’s jab would be key in this fight. And occasional 1-2’s would keep him in it. Neither is knocking the other out imo. If George stayed upright through a dozen of Tommy Morrison’s Left Hooks… Zhang isn’t KOing him. Now 1st career George… Probably gets careless and tries the macho route of slugging with Zhang. Then hits the deck. Probably for an eventual 10-count
Young George stops Zhang by bodyshots around the 8th, old George stops him any way he wants two rounds later. Zhang is an exciting footnote to our era. A big block V8 puncher with a gallon and a half of gas.
Seriously who has Zhang fought and beat in his 31 fights to say he not only beats a bonafide ATG like Foreman but destroys him ! Foreman has 1 stoppage loss in 81 fights and we all know the back story to that loss. Foreman fought in the Golden age of the Heavyweights as well as the 80s and 90s which let’s be honest p*ss all over this era .
Styles make fights man, and x beats y so z beats y never works. I dont have Foreman in my Top Ten but his style is all wrong for Zhang. In my opinion. It is cool, and to be encouraged, that others disagree. Peace and love, Px
Its so hard to judge Itauma because he hardly ever gets past the first round. Just 25 rounds in 12 fights. Clearly he is athletic and talented, but no one has tested his fundamentals. How well does he hold his composure after the 4th round? Can he adapt his gameplan? Can he take a good punch? So many unanswered questions. But! We he is facing Whyte next, which should answer a few questions. A fight with Zhang afterwards would be quite something.
What an embarrassing post. Jimmy Young was much, much better than Zhang. Young beat Foreman, Lyle twice and had a draw with Shavers. He lost a controversial decision to Ali and a close one to Norton. That is so far ahead of anything Zhang has done. Young was not a footnote. He was a serious heavyweight in the greatest era of heavyweight boxing. Zhang is a one trick journeyman in an average era.
