Lucian Bute had a pretty good left uppercut to the body i seem to remember him dropping Andrade with that shot.
Roberto Durán comes to mind even if his uppercuts weren't *specifically* aimed to the body, those wide looping fast shots sometimes hit the solar plexus or gut of his opponents and i bet that it hurt like a mf
I actually think they were targeted at the chest specifically. I've only noticed it recently, but against Cuevas, Palomino and Barkley, Duran was throwing those uppercuts to the chest as he shifted back, and they were stopping those guys in their tracks and lifting their head up. I think with a purpose as specific as that, you'd have to be aiming for it to begin with.
You beat me too it! Bute had a great left uppercut to the body. Bute is one of those guys that's not talked about much but he was a really solid fighter. Great amateur background, big for this division with good power/skill.
No one said Galivan yet? Leonard copied that shot against Hagler, 1 of the most eye catching of the match Chavez and Barrera had hooks than loop upwards being cross hook/uppercuts Marquez's uppercuts to head and body are a thing of technical beauty And ofcourse McCallum threw every punch to the body Tyson's body uppercut was very good. Tyson would of been even better with a constant bodyattack
Yes! Probably my favorite. Modern Cuban southpaw also use this punch very effectively, although in very different manner, moreso as a counter. Guillermo Rigondeaux and Juan Carlos Gomez in particular used it a lot.
