Was that unprecedented activity for a modern boxer who wasn't just starting out knocking down cans?

In the early 70s that wasn't really a lot.

Who was comparable, again factoring Boxers who were already established in their career and not just starting out? Joe Frazier only has 37 total pro fights.

In 67-70 Jerry Quarry fought Ellis, T Spencer, Patterson x2, Mathis, M Foster, London x2, Frazier, Ali, Chuvalo etc and had 23 fights.

    Not impressed.

Ali is small fish compared to current fighters; nowadays you see champions fighting like 3 times in just 14 years.

    So there.

Less is sometimes so much more, isn’t it?

If the boxers these days manage one fight in a year, then it’s a good year.

Beware the perils of over saturation. Keep the fans literally begging for more.

I'm sure the primary motivation behind Ali having so many fights in that timeframe was to make up for lost time during the exile--professionally AND financially!

Yeah the last boxer we might see at the top level for a while with the activity is Canelo.
