I think Greb would look like Sam Solomon if the film ever came out. @themaster458

Everyone says Calzaghe, but he was built more like Solomon and Solomon had a more crude style than Calzaghe.

Honestly it wouldn't do diddly, the man could look like a poor man's jake paul but that doesn't invalidate the crazy **** he achieved on the sport by beating men who look very great through the lens.

And Greb was so crude he beat Tommy Gibbons, a bigger Tunney, Tommy Loughran, Maxie Rosenblum and Tiger Flowers... all guys known for not being crude.

Mayorga beat Forrest, Piccirilo, and Six Heads. That’s boxing.

    That is fighting.

And Riccardo kept it together for a few years, and a few good fighters. Greb beat a few good fighters a month. And sometimes half a dozen HOF'er a year.

Calazaghe's style was based on Ray Leonard his favourite fighter and his southpaw style maybe came from Hagler. Greb had no such rolemodels.

Instead, I think his shadowboxing in the video may tell a tale. He throws a lazy jab, then follows through with a very straight heavy right hand. In boxing, throwing a lazy jab, encourages an opponent to come forward, this can make it easier to land the right hand counter or lead. I believe in the shadow boxing, he's also practising defensive blocks and change of angles. It's not much to go on and people think it's primitive but there is effective logic to his style in the shadowboxing. Greb also uses lateral circular movement combined with his combinations. If you can keep setting up and throwing 40 solid heavy rights a round, you're going to beat up nearly everyone.

When we watch the short sparring footage, it's more of a classical jab move and using a right hand counter while circling to his left, which takes away his opponents left hook. Greb is clearly intentionally pulling punches in what is a light sparring session. He's also showing some decent head movement. That little footage shows more variety to his game than many of his contemparies.

I actually think this short footage is indictive of the fighter Greb was, without showing the whole picture. His conditioning also looks exceptional.

If we saw Sullivans we’d see a great street fighting tough guy contestant.

Greb was exceptional in stamina, durability , chin and speed but from so much I read not a crowd pleaser .. I envision him as a wilder, smaller, tougher Calzaghe.

Both would be extremely interesting …
