Is my Maths correct that if you were a flexible sub, purchased each of the boxing PPV (Missfits not included) To the end of August you would have sunk roughly £340? Just how on earth is this good for boxing fans or growing the sport? Whilst seemingly all being done with Saudis bottomless pit of cash. It's ludicrous
This nonsense is simply driving millions of sports fans, including boxing fans, to the all inclusive £60 to £70 annual sub for the average working man on the street. Meanwhile DAZN UK limps on with up to 300 UK subscribers. The DAZN UK subscription price will need to include all Box Office Events and cost no more than £11.99 monthly for the masses to even consider changing how they watch live boxing these days. Very sad state of affairs and I blame Eddie Hearn.
It's been 12 days since I wrote that DAZN was planning on Itauma vs Whyte being a PPV card. I had heard it from several sources and - with all due respect - it will take something completely out of the ordinary to get the fight sold. Who is going to pay ?
It's going to create a lot of new boxing fans. I'm sure the people at DAZN are licking their lips and are delighted with the huge interest On a serious note : It's ruining and damaging boxing big time. Sad.
A few of us need to clear steer of Saudi by the look of this but no intention anyway to ever step on any soil under the control of any dictators whether a religious regime or other. This brutal regime needs called out for what it is. Shame on all the sporting people taking the sportswashing money whether boxers or football players.
If we all went to Saudi at the same time, there would be a wonderful British Boxing Forum meet and greet in a Saudi holding pen at the airport. We’d probably run out of things to talk about after 19 years in Turki’s jail though.
The silver lining is the holding pen probably has DAZN on a big screen to boost viewing numbers, so at least we wouldn't have to pay a score to watch Itauma fight.
DAZN UK have played many dirty tricks over the past 2-3 years and this is the latest in a long line. Good advertising of DAZN UK during the Club World Cup on Channel 5 informing the public to subscribe to DAZN UK and watch all the upcoming fights such as Pope Jake Paul and Usyk v Dubois. Any unsuspecting members of the public who do sign up will soon have the feelling of being conned when they realise that any fight above average interest is on Box Office. Would never gives this sportswashing channel another penny after being fleeced in the past with false promises.
Boxing promoters are cynical people who have no regard for the health of their boxers and are willing to use methods that cannot be published. It seems that His Excellency fits the role of a boxing promoter perfectly.
