How do you see this match up play out @ 140? Does Kid Pambele have any chance against a guy like Whitaker?

Damn, would this be a sweet ass fight! I could see either man having a good chance to win this in their primes.

    A slim one, maybe.

But I'll take Whitaker on points.

Cervates wasn't that good. He would have height on his side but Whitaker would still win.

    Bump.
@haNZAgod latest highlight on Cervantes' jab had me think about his chances against Whitaker with the skills and attributes that he possessed. Both of their jabs were excellent. Cervantes also fought against defense specialists when he had lost / beaten Locche and was also very competitive with a young Wilfred Benitez.

I love them both but I can't go against Pernell. I think he wins a clean and clear UD.

A very good bout with oodles of skill on display from both men. I go with Pernell in a close one.

I think Whitaker is just too elusive for Cervantes. He'd get inside his long arms and nick the fight on winning his rounds a bit more clearly - while most rounds are close.

Close fight that goes the distance. Whitaker didn’t spend much time at 140 but he was awesome both above and below so I think he does just fine there. Think Pernell takes a close decision

I see it no different than Cervantes-Benitez.

Cervantes gives Whitaker trouble with his reach and maybe even scores a flash knockdown, but Whitaker's speed and boxing ability win the fight.,
