¿Who do you think is the hardest hitter in heavyweight history (One-punch power)?

Louis because of the combination of enormous power and absolutely perfect technique.

 

Of those who could punch with any effectiveness (accuracy and timing) probably Geroge, Wlad or Lennox.

 

Bob Fitzsimmons ko'd 56 guys in his 60 wins. Had to have been a damn hard hitter.

 

Wladimir Klitschko. He didn’t always really sit down full force on his shots but when he did… Woa. Also Manny Steward said he was the hardest hitter he trained and so did Freddie Roach for that matter so… Yeah. Wlad

And I’m sure Tony Thompson agrees Here after he gets cracked by Wlad, he has a facial expression like “What the **** did I get hit with???”

Hate to say it but Wilder's right hand had great one punch KO power which could instantly alter a fight followed by Shaver's right hand. I would probably say Foreman next with either hand.

 

In terms of pounds per inch etc I'd go with Foreman.

Wlad, Wilder, Lewis and Shavers - P4P Dempsey for what he did to Willard who was famously big and famously durable despite not IMO being overly good. Foreman get's a lot of good press from mostly Holyfield but Holyfield says a lot just like GF he has also said he doesn't know if GF hit harder then Tyson for a start and said it was the hardest "single shot" ask Robinson who hit him the hardest... it isn't what you'd expect, sometimes a good punch is a good punch.

 

I'm struggling to decide between Shavers and Foreman. Both are frighteningly heavy handed. Liston's up there too. Wilder's the best with a single shot out of the more recent guys, probably.

 

Even in his highlight footage he's unwatchable, the most boring athlete in any sport that I can think of.

 

Foreman for me. I respect that Ali and Holmes both said Shavers, but outside or Norton, he usually KO'd cans. There just has to be some names, there.

 

The real answer is probably some guy on the local circuit none of us have ever heard of. Fighters with nothing but a punch who had a middling record because they couldn't actually box. We're talking about notables.

The two things for me that suggest unnatural power
A)power jab because it means a fighter needs less effort to generate it than a fighter whose swinging.
B)A fighter whose power is not tied to their size. They have power because they just "hit hard" and not because they swinging mass. If they cut weight they still have the power they had when they were were heavier.

The 4 HWs that stand out in one of these two categorys are Foreman, Liston, Fitz and Wilder.

 

By far, Lennox Lewis. He’s 50lb heavier than most of them.
