Extremely powerful and talented 6-footer against a spindly-legged heavyweight with dubious fundamentals and ring smarts? Wouldn't bet heavily on it but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I read in another thread that it's related more to Benn being on PEDs/coke and leavin immediately the arena because so

Benn fainted after the fight so couldn't do the p1ss - I believe that he was rushed to hospital and there was no follow up test. The way that Benn was raving it up with the Essex Boys and just living at the time, me suspects that his p1ss would've hissed and he would've been caught for something.

Couple that with the rabbit punches and him being helped back into the ring, a less lenient ref would've given the fight to G-Man in Round 1.

Whilst I would not wish what happened to him on anyone, if he was a tragic figure, he was only tragic in the same way that many abhorrent characters are taken advantage of by smarter, more charismatic, equally abhorrent characters. A vile human being by most accounts

The Benn fight was at 168lbs he was stepping up from 160lbs so there was 8lbs headroom from his previous championship fights.

Do you have a source for who said this?

Putting on 38lbs from the day of the weigh in seems extremely unlikely to me.

The science behind weight draining and then rehydrating has progressed substantially since Gerald fought and there are dozens and dozens of records of fight night weights. A 38lbs increase from 160lbs would be the highest increase of body weight in % terms on record.
