Oakford is ducking in and shooting up jabs and rights from a crouch before jumping outside again. Brown just watching, turning, waiting. Oakford using lots of nervous energy, hopping laterally around the ring. Brown slowly begins walking him down. Brown measures, tries a 1-2 as Oakford is grazing the ropes. Jabs traded. Right on the body from Brown. He lands one up top and Oakford is hurt. Brown nailing him into a corner. Huge uppercuts and hooks, Oakford being ripped to pieces. Ref having a look. A minute remaining. Brown raining down heavy power shots. In comes the ref!

Yeah, you don't want to get too carried away with someone that's just 3-0 (let alone calling Atang the heir apparent to Bruno and Joshua moments after his debut ) but Pat Brown looks the goods. Maybe not necessarily a world conqueror, but he could absolutely rally Manchester behind him and become their most exciting and loyalty-inspiring ticket-seller since Ricky Hatton, as one of the commentators just suggested.

 

Aqib Fiaz vs. Alex Murphy, 10 rounds @ lightweight

 

Fiaz and Murphy are both 13-1, and in their combined 28 bouts have just two stoppages (both of those belonging to Fiaz).
