    Hello friends,

A while ago, i created a thread for anyone who is interested in rewatching classic fights with fresh eyes and discussing them on this forum. Thread is here: Which classic fights do you want to revisit in 2025? | Boxing News 24 Fan Forum

In our first 4 installment, we discussed RJJ vs Tarver 1, Canelo Alvarez vs GGG 2, Bernard Hopkins vs Jermaine Taylor 1, and James Toney vs Tiberi. The links to the previous installments are found below the embedded video below.

In our fifth installment, we will discuss, Evander Holyfield vs Michael Moorer 1

This fight will be interesting due to a debate on whether the knockdown round is a 10-8 Holyfield or a 10-9 Holyfield round.

You can rewatch the fight whenever you have time and we will discuss it NEXT Sunday, 13th July 2025. This will give everyone enough time to go back and rewatch the fight with fresh eyes.

You are not obligated to score the fight. However, if you do decide to score the fight, please wait till Sunday, 13th July June 2025 to post your scorecards so we can do this collectively.

Personally, i will be posting my scorecard and adding a poll on top of it.

I am going to embed the fight here.

    Hello,
I scored the fight 115-113 for Moorer with the 2nd round a 10-8 round for Holyfield as it was a legitimate KD.

    Rd 1 : 10-10
Very close round that could have gone either way.

    Rd 2 : 10-8 Holyfield
Moorer dominated the round but it wasn't a complete beating. Holyfield dropped him near the end with a good counter from my recollection.

    Rd 3 : 10-9 Moorer
Moorer once again dominated most of the round but Holyfield came back well at the end.

    Rd 4 : 10-9 Moorer
Close round but Moorer hurt Holyfield at the end.

    Rd 5 : 10-9 Moorer
Moorer still dominated, Holyfield appeared to be tired and was cut on the eye.

    Rd 6 : 10-9 Moorer
Moorer landed a lot of jabs, Holyfield danced away to evade the punches.

    Rd 7 : 10-9 Holyfield
Holyfield retook the initiative but Moorer defended himself well.

    Rd 8 : 10-9 Moorer
Both were less active but Moorer landed a little more.

    Rd 9 : 10-9 Holyfield
Holyfield more active and landed more.

    Rd 10 : 10-9 Moorer
Moorer landed two good right-left combinations and some jabs, Holyfield landed some punches at the middle of the round.

    Rd 11 : 10-9 Holyfield
Holyfield landed a little more but was still tired.

    Rd 12 : 10-9 Moorer
Moorer dominated the start, Holyfield came back halfway but Moorer finished stronger.

    Final score : 115-113 Moorer

Overall opinion : Fight a little boring except during the first few rounds and the last. Holyfield was tired from the 5th onwards, and Moorer didn't take enough advantage of it although he showed a good jab.
A deserved close win for Moorer.
