Crolla snr got beat loads of times on his journey up.. A loss ain't the end of his boxing life ffs.. He will have gained more in that fight than any win he's had so far
Absolutely spot on. They are more scripted than a theatre company doing Shakespeare. How Smith has managed to become Britain’s only boxing commentator, on every week, when it only seems like yesterday that he was binned by Sky, I have no idea. He’s more resilient than the terminator. He was biased then but now he’s like Putin’s press officer. If that big fat guy that got butchered by that Leo kid had been the Matchroom fighter, Smith and Barker would have had him ahead on points. I still blame the 2 or 3 divs on here that were crying when Smith was sacked and the bbc radio fella was commentating on DAZN. You wanted the ar$ehole back now we’ve all got to put up with him . Thanks a lot
Haven't watched him for years now and won't even if he's in with a big name. Not taking time out of my weekend to suffer through another of his fights
Think it's just an excuse to get their prospects some camera time and more people for Parsons to have "banter" with tbh
Was going to see this and let’s not forget Crolla got where he was because he was one of Hearns faves and extremely carefully matched. Always use the comparison of Luke Campbell, he’d have wiped the floor with Crolla but won less because he wasn’t a fave like Froch, Bellew, Crolla etc. I really liked Crolla by the way.
Mr Eddie Hearn at work and sadly many fall for his spin and lies time and time again, particularly at Heavyweight. I tell you this man could sell a parking ticket back to a Traffic Warden.
Although Hearn isn't the force he was during the Sky heyday, he still has plenty of mugs lapping up his drivel. Just look at how many people think Conor Benn is world class.
In some cases a boxer learns from a defeat but in the vast majority the boxer is never the same again after a crushing defeat. Something mentally happens to a boxer (who suffers a defeat). Especially if it is a defining one (as we saw last night). I really hope William Crolla returns but I doubt it.
First in a long time I've not bothered with a boxing card on a Sat night. But then the BBC described Catterall's fight as a "typically cautious performance" and think I did the right thing.
To be fair, when I'm sparring my 9 year old son, I do remind myself of Golovkin, the way I throw my shots, I turn my knuckles over and know exactly where I'm hitting him in his face. In my own mind around Brixton I'm the black Golovkin. No-one can tell me different. On another note I'm kicking myself for not putting a few quid on Wilkson...14/1 he was, ffs.
Pat Brown will certainly bring some entertaining fights at CW. Eddie Hearn labelled him one of the most exciting fighters on the planet last night, most people have never heard of him and he really does go OTT on every fighter he promotes.
