Dubois is number 2 in every independent ranking out there. So yes, he is universally recognized as the second best. And yes, the fight is for undisputed. We can argue how much is undisputed worth, but all I've seen for years was valuing undisputed status more than anything, now, when the fight for undisputed is not of someone's interest, it doesn't matter, lol. I always said undisputed is a gimmick and the lineal championship is the only thing that matters.

I would like Fury - Joshua and winner can fight the champ

I'd be real funny if Kabayel smokes Dubois after the Usyk fight

What independent rankings would that be?
    ESPN has Dubois #2 contender
    Ring has Dubois #2 contender
    Boxrec.com has Dubois #1 contender
Boxrec.com (fan rankings) has Dubois #4 contender
Heavyweight.com (fan rankings) has Dubois #1 contender
    TBRB.org stopped their rankings
The Boxing News stopped their rankings
Not sure how you are getting that he is universally recognized as second best

I agree with the rest of what you are saying though

Well, Fury was retired when the fight was made, wasn't he? So, not counting Fury, he was universally recognized as number 2. And TBRB didn't stop their rankings. And guess where Dubois is rated? As a number 1 contender. You can also drop Bad Left Hook in there - also a number 1 contender.

Ah, I see TBRB just stopped archiving their rankings archive from October 2023.
Did anyone actually drop Fury from their list due to retirement? I'm not sure. Some dropped him in the rankings, others like ESPN and Ring didn't (b
But we can also add Sports-Ratings.com to the above list which has Dubois #2 (and Parker #1)

    (independent journalist rankings)
    TBRB has Dubois #1 contender
    Ring has Dubois #2 contender
Bad Left Hook has Dubois #1 contender (Scott Christ's rankings)
ESPN has Dubois #2 contender (Andreas Hale's rankings)

    (independent computer rankings)
    Boxrec.com has Dubois #1 contender
    Sports-Ratings.com has Dubois #2 contender

    (independent fan rankings)
Heavyweight.com (fan rankings) has Dubois #1 contender
Boxrec.com (fan rankings) has Dubois #4 contender

All the sanctioning bodies did. When it comes to independent rankings TBRB and BLH did. Plus Fury just got beat by Usyk, if you want to argue he deserves the shot more than Dubois, be my guest.

So almost every outlet had Dubois as a number 1 contender barring Fury. I was right.

universally = by everyone; in every case; without exception

    2 have Fury #1
    2 have Parker #1
    4 have Dubois #1

If your argument was say most have Dubois #1 contender, sure that plays out. All I said was that it wasn't universal. I was right.

OK, I get your point. So: vast majority of the public considers Dubois as a number 1 contender, especially in light of Fury's retirement and the fact that he had 2 chances back to back and blew them.

What makes the most sense is Fury fighting Joshua and winner gets Usyk. Usyk isn’t going to fight but two more times.

Well, if we are talking the "vast majority of the public" we should probably remove the rankings that are one man's opinion.

    Now we have
    3 have Dubois #1
    2 have Parker #1
    1 has Fury #1

And then if we look specifically at the rankings of Dubois (#1, #1, #1, #2, #3, #4) = contender #2.00
And then if we look specifically at the rankings of Parker (#1, #1, #2, #3, #3, #3) = contender #2.17

    AnD tHeN...
okay, okay, I concede to your point

He walked back the two-more thing. I posted the interview where he said he doesn't know how many more.

I don't buy it. Usyk stopped him with ease after a low blow. Dubios doesn't even have a punchers chance imo.

Yes but he's on a very good run culminating in the Joshua win.

don't get me wrong, I think Parker has a better chance then Dubois, but I respect how THE CHAMP sees it.
