I do get the plan I guess. Fury wins the WBA regular, which he could do in his sleep, and then him and AJ fight for it, pretending it matters?

while Fury goes and wins that one, maybe send in AJ to win the British title? If we are doing titles far below either man, might as well have him grab one too.

Unless it is Turki who wants to see it and throwing away money. There are very little interest in a trilogy.

wardley? He gets lucky and knocks Fury down once. That’s the best he does. Fury wins every round otherwise.

Kabayel and Parker? Those are live fights. Would love to see those.

Wardley can be a nice confidence rebuilding fight for Fury.

The other two are live fights.

So, he will be gifted a third fight after being down 0-2. Figures.

People shouldn't be so angry about it if they also complain Fury wants easy fights.
I doubt the Arab is going to pay a huge sum (and Fury will demand that) for him to fight knockovers. Maybe he'd allow one 'tune up', but maybe not even that. I would be surprised if the Arab paid him millions to fight Pulev. Nobody wants to see it. It's not even a circus fight will some intrigue.
Fury will have to fight good opponents at some point in the deal anyway. That's probably why it hasn't been made. The Arab probably said AJx2 then Usyk.
I honestly think Fury thought he'd beat AJ in his prime but he probably has some doubts now and more than anything there's a huge price to pay if he loses because he has to live with that in the UK forever. So the AJ fight is actually riskier than the Usyk one.

The funny part is that a 43 year old Pulev would get into his top ten wins.

Turki needs to invest in the next generation.

Who are they? Itauama and Opetaia. One of these 2 is bound to do well. Maybe both.

Throw in older guys like Kabayel and Parker who each have 3-4 years at the top level, someone like Wardley, someone as limited but entertaining like Torrez Jr etc and you now have a new era of exciting fights and fighters.

    Let's move on.

Surely AJ and Fury both needing a tune up cancels out the need for a tune up if they fight one another...right? no...ok

The most likely scenario for me too, Joshua before Usyk. Fury has a much better chance against AJ, so he could get to Usyk after relaunching himself.

    Most likely:
    Pulev for WBA Regular
    Joshua I
    Joshua II

So they can bill the Fury-AJ fights as “WBA World Championship” fights.

Possibly Ngannou rematch if Ngannou is still around.

The Usyk trilogy simply won’t sell unless Fury looks good against Joshua first, to at least give fans the illusion of Fury being able to win. Because right now no one is interested in Usyk beating Fury a 3rd time.

Yep Fury would be silly not to fight AJ first there is a good chance Fury would stop him in devastating fashion like he did to Wilder and Whyte. That would drum up more interest from the casuals thinking that Fury is back in top form.

If we are lucky, Jalolov, Mullojonov, Gassiev and Gadhzimagomedov will get in there too, but I'm not holding my breath for any of them. Teramoana Jr. hopefully gets a shot.
