With that said, these p4p comparisons get a bit tricky with today's possibilities of weight manipulation. Crawford will have the weight and frame of a SMW in the ring, while Usyk still is much closer to today's dimensions for a CW than those of a HW.

Still though, Crawford has no experience of competing at this weight. He most likely won't have his usual mobility, agility and speed, while he will encounter power and punch resistance which is way higher than anything he's competed against. So a win is still a great feat.

I think Bud will beat Canelo, and yes he's P4P king of he pulls it off.

'Weight bully fights opponent same size as him for first time in career' should be the headline. Usyk beating Fury despite the massive physical disadvantages is a lot more impressive than Crawford fighting in a division he should've been fighting in for years - and still having height and reach advantages (and will probably outweight Canelo on the night). Not that I could see Crawford being able to outbox Canelo anyway.

As far as I am aware Bud has never failed a drugs test. I love Canelo and have watched him live but the Clenbuterol is a stain on his record. It’s not as if he needed it to deal with lil g as he proved he was better skilled fighter.

If Usyk beats Dubois (I think they will rob him on the Queensberry card in London) then he's still P4P #1 regardless of the outcome of Crawford-Canelo.

If Usyk loses and Crawford wins, then the amazing Inoue deserves to be P4P #1.

Canelo is the first opponent of Crawford's pro career who is close to his own size. Both Inoue and Usyk have been fighting bigger men and winning impressively.

By the way, I scored Crawford-Madrimov a draw.

I doubt he pulls it off as 38 is ancient for a lighter fighter, plus he is treading in new waters
    Can he hurt Canelo?

If he does win with zero controversy then I would have him number 1 for sure and best since Manny Pacquiao

Usyk has been P4P number one for years

Crawford and Canelo are both highly overrated

Fought on all soils, all opponents, almost never had favouritism which he has no control over anyway and he wouldn't ask for it. He's a better person which doesn't really matter but it does also. If Crawford or canelo didn't have ugly egos they'd bow their heads and profess that Usyk is that man and Usyk himself has never chased for that p4p status because it's lame.

Crawford is relying on Canelo being such a lame one dimensional overrated boxer an Canelo will rely on Crawford being smaller, older, uglier and exploitable in various areas. Crawford losses he runs off and just claim he's smaller and came for a payday. If canelo loses then he's just a laughing stock who always falters against supreme boxers...if Billie Joe wasn't a lame duck lazy and dedicated to the sport he would have outfoxxed Canelo.
