Plays like Foreman - Moorer but at a faster speed, in rough terms. Give old Foreman some speed and agility, take away half his skills, half his stamina and 90% his ring IQ... and you get Shavers. Moorer can win if he can follow faithfully the blueprint used against Foreman: keep your distance, dont stand iddle in front of him, refuse brawling, just snap shot and outbox to a safe victory. But if Moorer repeats the mistake of standing in front, chances are he goes down again.
Punchers like Shavers weren't scarce by the 90s. That said, Moorer had a mixed record against those kinds of guys. And Shavers, for his part, was erratic. Not a fight I'd bet on. Gun to my head, maybe Moorer, followed by an intense period of stress as I watch the fight unfold.
Good question... Honest answer is they would both probably win some and lose some if they fought several times. If I had to bet on a single fight I'd probably put my money on Moorer.
I think it’s a pick ‘em fight honestly. I might make Moorer the slight favorite as I believe he was a bit more rounded as a fighter. But both men could and most likely would hurt each other
