Parker, king of split and majority decisions over Ruiz, Hughie Fury, Zhang and Chisora. He's fat though.

vs the guy who beat the GOAT and most people's number 1 H2H Heavyweight. He's 205 lbs though.

    I wonder.

Lerena was never a power puncher and less skilled than Frazier on the front foot, he's basic and had Dubois backing up all night because Dubois knew he could be hurt, thats all it takes. SHWs don't typically try and run all their smaller opponents over just like Parker didn't try and maul 213 pound Jack Massey from the opening bell and when he tried he didn't have much success doing it, Parker even got rocked in that fight, yet he's destroyed much bigger fighters so make that make sense

Parker is literally the easier style match for Frazier out of all of the super heavyweights. I would bet on Frazier absolutely.

It's understandable. It's just that the shift has come so quickly.

I am even just comparing to when I joined like 6 months ago.

I think things hit a critical mass where enough people came to the same view that they wouldn't get shouted down. Unorthodox opinions tend to attract opposition, until they don't, and everyone settles down.

I don’t know if you sit on the side of the fence that assumes I’m a troll, I’m mentally ill or this is an act (I’ve heard all three) but I genuinely agree with you, we could do with less “Galento vs AJ” type threads (I’m guilty don’t worry I know) BUT I do like the revaluation going on of the 70s scene @George Crowcroft ’s thread on Povetkin vs Norton seemed like a healthy change… ham fisted super fanning is just as bad don’t you think? We’ve regularly had a few posters shout down any deviation from biblical text forever that are just as poisonous to discussion - usually it circles either the Ali 60s-70s scene or Marciano, lower weights don’t seem to attract the same kind of people unless it’s in season to hate on Mayweather lol.

I slithered on my belly out of the primordial ooze so you could walk comrade, never forget me, as “primitive” as I am in my ways… seriously though you’ve been a great addition to classic and the overall discussion here.

It does seem strange, if you think about it, that thinking a contender from one era could beat a contender from another era would attract so much controversy.

We might be moving on a bit from that early stage, though. There's a little more pluralism. Hopefully.

Doesn’t it just? I genuinely think Classic is going a new route, there is subtle changes I’m seeing here and there.

Maybe someday, the Dempsey fans will come back, like the swallows to Capistrano.
