Luis Lazarte vs John Riel Casimero (IBF Interim world light flyweight title)
    Round 1: Lazarte 10-9
    Round 2: Casimero 19-19
    Round 3: Lazarte 29-28
Round 4: Lazarte 39-37 (Casimero deducted once)
Round 5: Lazarte 49-45 (Casimero down)
Round 6: draw 58-54 (Lazarte deducted once)
    Round 7: Casimero 67-64
Round 8: Casimero 76-74 (Lazarte deducted once again)
Round 9: Casimero 84-84 (Lazarte dropped)
Round 10: Lazarte dropped once,as Casimero won by TKO
First of all,I'd say that it's a big, deserving win for Casimero,Lazarte was trying to get a way out by playing victim and the referee was cooking Casimero with that number of reports, the riot by the argentinian fans were buns too.

However,I thought Lazarte could've won clean in this fight if he didn't use illegal tactics, looking at the way he smothered Casimero, stole those rounds and made most of Casimero's punches unclear,he would be able to sway the judge's eyes into an easy, ugly decision.

Yet he tried to bite, and paid the price..

But it was somewhat a good fight for both, good win for Casimero as he beat a crafty, oldest champ of all time in light flyweight, and Lazarte showed he got tricks.

Lazarte does fight in his hometown mostly and I'm not sure if he actually fought everyone in his era,but judging from his physical and age disadvantages,he was sort of a throwback fighter,he got his title the hard and rough way..(with some sketchy records before and after)

@Mastrangelo ,you got a good insight on Lazarte,so I suggest you probably show your insight here too.
I wonder how @scartissue views and score this monstrosity of a fight.

Trying to catch up on some fights I had penciled in. I can thank @Dynamicpuncher for this one.

Carl Johannsen v Michael Gomez (British super featherweight title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Gomez
    Round 2: 10-9 Gomez
    Round 3: 10-10 Even
    Round 4: 10-9 CJ
    Round 5: 10-9 CJ
Round 6: CJ drops and then stops Gomez

Total through 5 completed rounds: 48-48 Even (official score not known)

What-a-fight! Wait, let me say that again. WHAT-A-FIGHT! Has Gomez ever been in anything else? Man, the way he started out one would think he was on his way to victory. However, Johannsen had other plans and slowly crept his way into the fight before referee Mickey Vann quite rightly stopped it. Thanks again, D.

Evander Holyfield vs Michael Moorer 1

    1 Holyfield
    2 Holyfield 10-9 knockdown
    3 Moorer
    4 Moorer
    5 Moorer
    6 Moorer
    7 Holyfield
    8 Even
    9 Holyfield
    10 Holyfield
    11 Moorer
    12 Moorer

    115-114 Moorer.

Round 2 for me was definitely only 10-9 Moorer was in complete control of that round and Holyfield virtually only landed 2 punches right at the end of the round to score the knockdown.

I thought there was a few swing rounds that could've gone either rounds 3 and 8.

But overall i felt Holyfield landed the better punches but he didn't have the energy levesl to sustain it and Moorer's more consistent workrate and jab gave him the edge IMO.

I don't know why Moorer didn't really put his foot on the gas vs a lackluster Holyfield maybe he was a bit cautious after the knockdown ? but the way he fought the 12th round had he fought more like that it's possible he could've got a stoppage IMO.

Me and Harold Lederman differed on a few rounds he scored rounds 3 and 8 for Holyfeld and scored the 2nd 10-8 which i slightly disagreed with.

    John Tate vs Mike Weaver

    Round 1: Tate 10-9
    Round 2: Tate 10-9
    Round 3: Tate 10-9
    Round 4: Tate 10-9
    Round 5: Weaver 10-9
    Round 6: Tate 10-9
    Round 7: Tate 10-9
    Round 8: Tate 10-9
    Round 9: Tate 10-9
    Round 10: Tate 10-9
    Round 11: Tate 10-9
    Round 12: Weaver 10-9
Round 13: Tate 10-9 (could have gone either way)
Round 14: Tate 10-8 (point deducted for a low blow)
    Round 15: KO

Score by the time of the stoppage: 138 - 127 Tate

It's really tragic looking at it. Tate was in complete control throughout the fight. The most you could give Weaver was 3 rounds in my book. But he did connect with that left hook on couple of occasions. You can see the different impact it had in the beggining of the fight to that in its last part, where Weaver shook Tate with it twice I think. And then, the 15th round came. The best coming from behind job I've ever seen.

Aaron Pryor v Miguel Montilla (jr. welterweight title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Pryor
    Round 2: 10-9 Montilla
    Round 3: 10-9 Pryor
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 Pryor
    Round 6: 10-9 Pryor
    Round 7: 10-9 Montilla
    Round 8: 10-9 Pryor
    Round 9: 10-9 Pryor
    Round 10: 10-9 Pryor
    Round 11: 10-9 Pryor
Round 12: Pryor swarms and hurts Montilla and the ref intervenes

Total through 11 completed rounds: 108-102 Pryor (actual scores: 108-102, 107-103 and 109-101 all for Pryor)

Miguel Montilla was a good opponent. Despite poor challengers rife in the sport at the time, he came in with good credentials (wins over Alfonso Frazer, Ricardo Arredondo, Alfredo Escalera, Domingo Ayala, Nani Marrero and Mike Everett) as well as 2 unsuccessful challenges to Antonio Cervantes' crown. He seemed to be able to tag Pryor anytime he wanted until he started gassing. Pryor for that matter didn't appear to be too sharp this night but he handled everything Montilla threw at him before going all out in the 12th. Interesting fight.

I saw that @USFBulls727 had recommended the Orlin Norris v Renaldo Snipes fight but I couldn't find it. I did, however, find this gem.

Orlin Norris v Adolpho Washington I (some crap crusierweight strap)

    Round 1: 10-10 Even
    Round 2: 10-9 Washington
    Round 3: 10-10 Even
    Round 4: 10-9 Norris
    Round 5: 10-9 Washington
    Round 6: 10-9 Washington
    Round 7: 10-9 Washington
    Round 8: 10-9 Norris
    Round 9: 10-10 Even
    Round 10: 10-9 Washington
    Round 11: 10-9 Washington
    Round 12: 10-9 Washington

Total: 118-113 Washington (actual scores: 115-114 by all 3 judges for Norris)

Let me preface this by saying there is nothing wrong with these scores - or mine. It was this kind of a fight. It may look like I had it way comfortable for AW, but that was total points. It must be said that every round was so damn close. There was a fine line on what you're looking for. The harder punches, which was Norris, or the steady workrate, which was AW. I would say it's up to you if you want to pick up a pen for this but I will say for a fight fan, you must watch this just for the entertainment value. Which was Wow! I obviously favored the Washington workrate. I loved his jab and when he started stepping up with combinations and then finally his counter attack reminded me of Evander Holyfield. I know @Dynamicpuncher has enjoyed many an Orlin Norris fight, so I think you would enjoy this immensely, D. The styles gelled so well. Terrific fight.

I have Norris-Snipes on VHS. Will make the effort to find it and upload it. Probably Norris' most exciting fight @ Heavyweight that I can recall. He managed to get a close UD, but the decision was roundly booed.

Would like to see Norris-Tubbs, and/or Norris-Cooper if anybody has either of those.

Really digging into more Adolpho Washington. Just really loved his action style. He looks like Tyson coming at you but fights more like Holyfield, which is still not a bad thing. Anyways here he is challenging for some version of the cruiserweight championship.

    David Izegwire v Adolpho Washington

    Round 1: 10-9 Washington
    Round 2: 10-9 Washington
    Round 3: 10-9 Washington
    Round 4: 10-9 Ize
    Round 5: 10-9 Ize
    Round 6: 10-9 Washington
    Round 7: 10-9 Washington
Round 8: Referee intervenes after Washington hurts Izegwire and bangs him around the ring.

Total through 7 completed rounds: 68-65 Washington (scores not known)

Ize was an infighter and was very good on the inside, but Washington was so well versed on the outside. He slipped up in rounds 4 and 5, which let Ize back in the fight, but got his second win and finished matters when it counted. Good jolting shots from both fighters would keep you wondering who was going to take it. Good matchup.

This is what I wrote when i scored it:

Antonio Cervantes v Miguel Montilla I (jr. welterweight title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Montilla
    Round 2: 10-9 Cervantes
    Round 3: 10-9 Montilla
    Round 4: 10-9 Montilla
    Round 5: 10-9 Montilla
    Round 6: 10-9 Cervantes
    Round 7: 10-10 Even
    Round 8: 10-9 Cervantes
    Round 9: 10-9 Cervantes
    Round 10: 10-10 Even
    Round 11: 10-9 Cervantes
    Round 12: 10-9 Cervantes
    Round 13: 10-9 Montilla
    Round 14: 10-9 Cervantes
    Round 15: 10-10 Even

Total: 145-143 Cervantes (actual scores: 145-143, 143-142 and 147-142 all for Cervantes)

Man, this was close. Montilla fought a fight with a lot of hustle and bustle while Cervantes chipped away with short counters and that pole-like jab that he only fired in ones. The cumulative effect really cut up Montilla but he was still hustling at the end. I won't say robbery but it was damn close.

Also, a couple of more outlets had Cervantes the winner. Ring Mag called it 146-142 and the AP had it 145-140. So I wouldn't call it a robbery, just a good competitive fight.

I was in the mood today for a little Sot Chitalada action. Because there is always action involving him. Here are 2 fights I just checked out:

Sot Chitalada v Rae Ki Ahn (flyweight title)

    Round 1: 10-8 Sot (scores a knockdown)
    Round 2: 10-9 Sot
    Round 3: 10-8 Sot (scores a knockdown)
Round 4: Sot drops and stops Ahn

Total through 3 completed rounds: 30-25 Sot (actual scores: 30-25, 30-24 and 30-23 all for Sot)

Really not much to this bout. Ahn was lively but hopelessly outgunned.

Sot Chitalada v Charlie Magri (flyweight title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Magri
    Round 2: 10-10 Even
    Round 3: 10-9 Sot
    Round 4: 10-9 Sot
The bout was stopped between rounds due to a bad cut on Magri's left eye

Total through 4 completed rounds: 39-38 Sot (actual scores: 40-36 for Sot and 2 scores of 38-38 each)

Magri let Sot know early that this wasn't another Rae Ki Ahn fight. Charlie's punching power was for real. But I gotta say, Sot's left jab was like a friggin' razor and it did its job on Magri. Good fight while it lasted.
