I don't believe the 130m figure personally I know the fights in a stadium but the ppv revenue will not be high These guys aren't big names like Floyd, manny or Oscar. Casuals don't give a **** about them. They care about Fury and Joshua, maybe Wilder to a degree. It's sad but true
Usyk vs Kabayel is the best fight to make. Kabayel is a plodder whose style will allow Usyk to shine, but Kabayel is also a really good body puncher, something that Usyk struggles with - it´s his only real weakness. It would be an excellent clash of styles.
Most of these 130m purse reports can be traced back to this weird sites like: https://www.marca.com/en/boxing/2024/12/21/6766e7c4e2704e9f948b4591.html and https://www.fightsports.tv/usyk-fury-rematch-offers-huge-purse-split/ There are no verifiable sources, or multiple other sources making similar claims. I am pretty certain that they are pulling these numbers out of their ass for clickbait.
Usyk said yesterday that he is near the end and that he only has 2 more fights left at most He said he really misses his family and needs to be there for his sons and his daughter, especially the age his sons are now Said he's away from them for six months of the year. Excerpts from an couple of older interviews 'Usyk, 37, on the other hand, says he speaks to his own wife and children every day, but has not seen them for five months' "I don’t think about boxing now, please. My camp started in September 2023, I worked for nine months. I missed Happy New Year, I missed my son’s birthday, I missed my other son’s birthday, I missed my daughter’s birthday, and then the birth of my daughter. I also missed family holidays. I was only focused on this fight, now I’m happy and I want to go back home. This was a big opportunity for me, for my family, for my country, for my people. It’s a big victory—not just for me, but for Ukraine. I want to say thank you to everybody who supports me, my team, my family, my kids. I love you all. I’m very tired now, I want to rest, I want to go home, I want to see my children. I haven’t seen them for nine months. I want to say to my daughter, ‘Hey, baby, I’m coming home.’ He also said boxing is a drug and he needs it "Boxing if you do this for a long time: 10, 15, 20, 25 years then boxing is like a drug. "If you don't go to training one day then you feel dead. For me, at least. "I train every day. I don't do boxing every day. Sometimes I do crossfit, and running training. "I only do boxing when I am in my camp." In many ways boxing is like a drug.
I have no doubt both guys will be highly rewarded. Maybe the the 130m figure is for both? No chance these guys are getting over 9 figures. Floyd got 9 figures vs canelo, but it had over 2 million ppv buys in the States alone and the gate revenue was likely higher, even though this fight is at Wembley Joshua v Fury could draw up 9 figures each if they ever fight
I'd pay to watch it, but we will never see it as usyk is one foot into retirement. This is why I sometimes hate boxing, all these f*****g pointless rematches robs us of other fights. I don't blame usyk for Joshua or Fury, he had no choice and there was competitiveness to warrant a rematch, but he smashed dubois and dubois pulled out of a fight with parker. I'm sorry, I know there is a title on the line (really already usyks belt), but this rematch is not warranted. Usyk should be fighting Parker this week and dubois could have defended his paper title vs Kabayel. The winners would then meet to unify. This would greatly enhance Usyks legacy, as he would have beat EVERYONE in 2 divisions amd even I would put him along with the very best to ever do it, or damn close anyway. Yes he will likely retire the best hw in the world, but not fully proven. ALI read out divisions in separate decades, but they where a different breed back then to the modern fighter
