In all seriousness, the phrase "big footy fight" still feels more authentically boxing and less circus act than our new Yank trend of YouTube personalities headlining PPV.

 

Crikey this sent me for a loop... Alex Sr. is only a few years my senior and his boy is already fighting pro? Tempus fugit.

 

Willis Meehan had a lot of potential too bad he didn't stick with boxing.

SBW boxed his nut off, wasnt even competitive lol

 

SBW got his 10 year wait and his sissy 2 minute rounds and an L to go with them.

Wow how anyone thought Gallen won that fight is deluded..... I was going for him but SBW almost stopped him in the 2nd rd.... that aside, Gallen looked terrible. In the end, SBW deserved to lose based on him being a cat and holding but if he had more balls he shouldve stopped Gallen in rd 3

 

Ye i'm amazed. All I saw was Gallen chasing SBW around and getting pieced up for 8 rounds, and almost stopped. He did nothing other than land the occasional body shot. Anyone who thinks he won more than 2 rounds must really hate SBW Lol.

 

Great that Gallen won as he is a superb talker and Williams is a bit of a knob. I can't find any good footage anywhere of this.

The 2min rounds back fired on SBW he had Gallen hurt and with more time could've stopped him but also he was hurt from that body shot and if he didn't hold Gal might've put him down.

It is harder to score those 2min rounds however SBW fought like a cat for a big strong dude he seems terrified of getting hit he deserves to take the L haha

 

A lot of the backslappers can't grasp the concept that boxing is scored on individual rounds.

Its not like a video game where each fighter has a health bar.

I did think Money bill edged it for sure. He won 2 of the biggest and most clear rounds but most of the others were tight and scrappy.
Sonny Bill's ring generalship sucks though..it just looks bad when are trying to stifle the fight like that and react so badly to any punch that got through.

 

Even a slapping left hook and the few jabs that Gallen landed seemed to bother SBW. I have no doubt that even a couple of years ago that Gallen would have stopped him. You are right about the ring general ship, Sonny can look good in 10 second bursts throwing combo's and moving but then he is terrified of what is coming back.

 

Plenty of tongues wagging after this fight.
