I had it 95-94 Khataev but either men being given the nod is feasible. There were plenty of swing rounds and it was a very close affair overall.

Really? I think Kahataev was able to roll pretty well with the shots, didn't look in trouble that much, and seems to have a granite chin. Whenever Morrell put his foot down, he seemed to get caught himself. He definitely could have outboxed him over the final few rounds of a 12-rounder; the pendulum was swinging, but I had Khataev winning 6-3-1, plus the knockdown. Dreadful decision but I'd love to see the rematch, it was the best fight on the card I think.

    6-4 Morrell with the knockdown
    95-94 Morrell

One thing for certain whether you think Morrell is overrated or not his handlers have matched him tough at 175. I don’t see any of the other guys in the top 10 wanting to fight Khataev. Most would have taken a soft touch after the Benavidez fight just for confidence.

I didn't get a scorecard, but I saw a very close fight, a SD is a possible here. Morrell has definitely chosen a tough opponent after his first career loss. I'd love to see the Cuban fight Callum Smith.

They're not in it to make money

They're in it to take over.

Basically all these projects are funded by a giant (Aramco) sovereign wealth fund worth over $1 trillion dollars. The interest earned on that money alone amounts to the GDP of many small countries, let alone all the profits and dividends.

This is purely entertainment for the Saudis and eventually they will take over and have a UFC style model for boxing

Two caveats before I even put my input in:

    1. I didn’t keep a score card.

    2. I missed rounds 9-10, which sound like big rounds for Morrell from what I’ve heard.

With that said, it felt like Khataev was winning most of the fight I watched, and Morrell while was competitive, basically seemed like he was doing enough to stay in the fight rather than win. It felt like Morrell was getting pushed around the ring and hurt, and even when he put up good offensive, it was a response to something from Khataev to stay in the fight. (With Khataev work usually seeming more substantial and damaging)

Kudos to Morrell for taking a fight like this after Benavides.
