As for Wlad's clinching he did it mainly a lot vs shorter pressure fighters. Foreman is a more upright fighter and even though had decent speed but wasn't really speedster so I don't see as as much clinching. I think both would be wary of each other's power as well.
Wlad does not like being backed up. He'll find it difficult to contain Foreman. Then he'll get lamped by a guy happy to let his hands go.
Has Wlàdmir ever had to deal with a strong opponent throwing a heavy straight jab at him? He seemed to be the type who wanted to be the only one in the ring throwing a lot of jabs as that was the foundation for his whole style and strategy. I also don't think he'd react too well to those heavy body shots.
Pulev had a good jab. Wlad struggled to dominate with the jab like he usually does he actually had more success on the inside.
Wlad was extremely light on his feet for the Haye fight, he moved out of range quickly and often. Haye was fast too, Foreman is not although he can cut the ring off. Wlad would make Foreman look really slow here and probably get the late stoppage.
Well Wladmir opting to fight Foreman on the inside would be a suicidal plan so bold, it would make Japanese Kamikaze fighters proud.
He could catch Foreman with a hook first though as Foreman wasn't the quickest. But sure it's possible Foreman catches him with something big. I think both would be pretty respectful of each others power when establishing the jab.
Faces guys of nearly all kinds styles sizes and weights yet still hardly lost rounds till 2015 at 39. GOAT stuff.
Pulev, Povetkin, Joshua, Peter, Wolfgramm, Jefferson, Shufford, etc. It typically didn’t work out for them.
Pulev was a good win, although he didn't have even 50% of the punching power of Foreman. He didn't take away Pulev's jab or out jabbed him, he had to adjust. He clinched and back humped his way to victory against Povektin in a disgraceful performance. Joshua beat him. Peter didn't really jab away or focus on body punching against Wladmir, he mostly just spammed power punches like hooks constantly marching forward mixing in a few rabbit punches as well. The rest were meh.
