Well its not like they are in the same position as Turki where he has an endless pot of money and can afford to pay the fighters what they need not have to worry if the show/event loses money. At the end of the day all promotors are in the business to make money whether we like it or not
Fair play to his excellency. I’ve always liked him. Where does this leave Eddie Frank and Dazn now ? It’s not going to be easy to put any old sh1te on PPV when Turki is putting stronger cards on for the cost of a subscription. I’m guessing that the Saudis have increased their interest in DAZN via the Club World Cup and perhaps have their eyes on turning DAZN into the major sports broadcaster in the world. The infrastructure is there already. Think of the influence that would have globally.
I wonder if Turki and DAZN have started to get the PPV numbers for the show at the weekend and realised they spent £15m on a show and 1,200 have paid to watch it?
A very rich and tall Rodney Trotter type from Essex claimed this a few years back then something amazing happened. This content is protected
On a more serious note, the large numbers of subscriptions and large numbers of Box Office Events resulted in millions of people joining the firestick revolution and this is at least is a positive change in the right direction. The monthly subscription price will need to be no more than £19.99 per month to attract new subscribers. Well done Mr Turkey.
Riyadh Season and Ring Magazine cards will NOT be free for all DAZN subscribers. Instead, DAZN will offer an in-app monthly subscription called The Ring Pass. Fans will need both to watch the content. A price has not yet been set. Turki Alalshikh had previously and erroneously announced that all Riyadh and Ring shows would be free for DAZN subscribers. #BrunchBoxing From some boxing account on X
They already do this with other sports don't they ? Their plan seems to be buy the rights to different sports and you pay for each with its own separate pass/subscription , pretty sure they already done this with NFL Season pass etc. Its good in that you wont have to pay for the sports you don't want to watch , however at the price point I'm hearing it'll make it quite expensive to follow just boxing for example.
Good grief, that’ll be an eye-watering cost I bet. No way the fans will be better off with this. They’ll need to have more ‘PPV’ fights to justify whatever this ‘Ring Pass’ costs compared to a normal sub, further watering down the quality of what you get with a normal subscription.
