This is probably the worst undercard ever for a PPV Show in the U.K. Frank Warren should be ashamed of himself.
Guess the main event must have been expensive! And of course it wasn't the 10-minute sellout AJ/Fury fights tend to be, so I wonder if the Warrens played it safe...
This seems most likely, keep the undercard cheap... would have been better to try get some decent ticket sellers in 50/50's to prop up undercard and fill the stadium
A British or Commonwealth title fight doesn't cost much and it would have looked good on paper. I almost feel sorry for the DAZN staff who have to fill the long breaks between fights on Saturday.
Exactly. You could stick a few competitive British level fights on there and it wouldn't cost much at all. Even the main event seems to be massively under promoted. This is a unified heavyweight fight and possibly the first ever 4 belt unified British champion- there should be a massive push behind it
I went on Ticketmaster this morning (to get tickets for another event altogether) and they were still pushing the Usyk-Dubois fight heavily. Can't have sold out.
I agree that they haven't been good enough to sell this event at all. As you write, it's for the undisputed heavyweight title. It don't get much bigger ! Imagine if this had been an Eddie Hearn promotion. He would have talked about "fight of the century" etc. I've been told how much money DAZN is paying Queensberry and it's a huge amount. They could have easily put together a better undercard. In fact, I'd venture to say that it's embarrassing that Queensberry isn't delivering a better one.
Not surprising when you look at how much tickets are. It's genuinely daylight robbery and I just don't understand why people pay it.
Norfeners will tell you that Michael Jackson once had a statue on London soil and Downing Street has been overrun by turd for years.
You might like London but not sure why you find it odd considering many London natives of X generations have become totally disillusioned with the place. Everyone knows the mountain of problems London has.
