I wouldn't say he's dumb, he's just weird on camera, he just says whatever Warren tells him to say.

I'd say he is a lot more known for his physical and somewhat technical talents rather than being a smart boxer.

Yes, has great physical attributes that he has learned to apply successfully. He also has weaknesses that he has managed to mask on this 3 fight run

This rematch will tell us a lot about his ability to learn, adjust and improve

Well he is earning more money than any of us can imagine earning, he has a version of the world heavyweight title, he has defended the title against a previous world heavyweight champion ending the fight in devastating style, and he is about to fight for the undisputed title, i would say he was a smart guy.

Anyone being able financially to retire at age 27 if they so chose, and live a comfortable life from his ring earnings, ticks the smart box for me

He’s the type of guy that you think simply HAS to have some sort of savant ability - like, say, being able to whittle out an anatomically perfect figure of a horse from a plain block of wood in just 5 minutes.

Other than that, he knows how to scream his name out “Daniel Doo Doo” and then grin just afterward as if he just made an uproarious “funny”.

At every face off, I don’t detect any malice in Usyk eyes, rather, I see sorrow. Ah, to have to kill a mockingbird…..

What if he loses all his earnings at age 28?

    This.

And at heavyweight, as long as chin is decent+ (which his is), punching power is high and so on... That can be enough.

In some ways, it might even be an advantage to be particularly thick... He's not as likely to get in his own head and confuse himself by overthinking when things start going wrong in the way we saw with AJ, for example, because he's not even smart enough to ask himself "why is this not working?"... And that might make him more effective up to the point that things break down - then completely unable to adjust when really tested.

Hard to get caught in two minds when you barely have two brain cells to rub together.

I'm not sure if it's smarts, instinct, drills or all of those things but when AJ hurt him Dubois shortened his punches and ended the fight.
I've not seen AJ do that.

Finely tuned and well coached, with good fundamentals. But he's not got savvy, that some are just born with, or have the personality to pick up

A much more intelligent fighter than many see. His footwork has always been very good. Not fast or light on his feet but rarely in the wrong place and incredibly efficient. Against a few of his opponents he has remined me of a bigger lab built Tyson. He mixes his punches up well and adapts them to distance, and he rarely rushes in when he has someone hurt. A very good finisher. This will be an interesting fight.

That is the same for any wealthy person.
History shows us many very smart folk have gained great wealth, but later lost it
To date Dubois seems to have invested his wealth in bricks and mortar, most definitely does not live the high roller lifestyle, so one hopes he will not end up as a penniless pug.
If Dubois were to lose all his earnings at age 28, then i am sure the fact he held a version of the world heavyweight title, and beat AJ in defence of the title, would afford him opportunities post retirement to earn money to put food on his table and a roof over his head.
I would hope Marcianos quote when he announced his retirement would be true for Dubois
"I am comfortably fixed, and I am not afraid of the future. Barring a complete and dire emergency, you will never see Rocky Marciano make a comeback."
