His lack of intellect out of the ring seems to translate into the ring.... This man had been missing that overhand right all night, so while hurt, his instinct his to throw a wild, telegraphed, looping right and obviously wasn't expecting a counter punching master to nail him with a massive counter left that put him out!? Like someone else said; dumber than a box of hair.........
He should have gone for the body more IMO but it must be tough to pull off when you're in the ring with a genius GOAT level killer. We'll never know the feel unless we get in a road rage fight with Ronnie Pickering. The coach telling him to thank the crowd was so strange though.
I wonder who Dubois will fight next? Okolie would be an easy fight for Warren to make. Wardley would make for a good matchup, and Bakole would be interesting. Or perhaps a rematch with Joshua.
Some nice entertaining fights could be made against Wardley and Moses. Maybe even Chisora. Most likely they try to play it safe until the belts scatter due to Usyk retiring.
Okolie sucks... Technically sound but Dubois should be able to impose himself on size alone A silver belt Yay
I’ll say this about dubois… he’s strong and can crack. His jab is very dangerous too because of the pop it has and reach. But… against the GOAT… it’s nullified as we saw tonight
Yes I think despite DDD obvious flaws he will still pick up a title or two along the way but that will only help Usyk legacy
His biggest problem isn't a lack of intellect, it's lack of a sturdy MANDIBLE!!! https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/daniel-dubois-has-a-glass-jaw.696063/unread
If Usyk wasn't smart he'd have been banged up badly by the murder row of punchers he's faced. It's just physics.......
While I'm not surprised Usyk won I was surprised at how Dubois looked, he did what I knew he had to avoid which was waiting on Usyk. Add to that , I got the sense that Usyk had the ability to hurt Dubois with whatever he was landing. I wagered a small amount on Dubois figuring like most that he had improved in his last few fights and that would carry over into the rematch,,,Wrong! He looked outclassed from the get go , confused and hesitant and I thought he looked worse than he did in the first loss to Usyk . Maybe Dubois looked better in his previous fights due to styles and opponents but I thought he'd give a much better effort than that.
Usyk is always better the 2nd time around, only exception was 2nd AJ fight. But I largely put it down to the fact that his country was invaded in the middle of training camp
I thought the only way Dubois had a chance was to attack Usyk and fight aggressively like Chisora did but when he did in the 5th round he got knocked out cold.
