And will be. If Usyk wants to defend the undisputed title, he has to fight Parker or the WBO strips. And Frank Warren is pushing hard for it.

Final thought is, Usyk has never said, "no." According to him he has told Parker, "maybe." And he mentioned Parker last night, albeit unenthusiastically.

    Parker is the obvious challenger.

The very fact that he was the FOURTH fighter Usyk mentioned last night as a possible opponent (first bringing up a third fight with Fury, a third fight with Joshua, or a rematch with Chisora) doesn't exactly make me think he's going to get it, though.

I didn't think the first Dubois fight, the first Fury fight, the first Joshua fight or the first Chisora fight warranted a rematch, based on the fights themselves.

I know classic fans like to bring up the fact so-and-so fought so-and-so 10 times or 20 times ... but given these guys only fight once a year ... maybe cool it on so many rematches. Especially when the first fights weren't all that compelling.

The money goes elsewhere, but to close the legacy and do right by the division, I agree

easy win for Usyk against a bloke already battered by Whyte and nearly killed by Joyce. His match against Joshua was a stinker.

He's since been sold to the public as some killer since he scraped past old and shot men. His best knockout win might still be Botha lol

Parker is a hard fight for usyk and he knows it, solid jaw and mobility if I was usyk I would know he is the most difficult fighter to fight, Parker would have took all the shots that ddd struggled with but also he wouldn’t have been there to take them in the first place, he wouldn’t have over sold his shots and he wouldn’t have been in there to get tagged flat footed. I’m not saying usyk gets beat but I’m saying it’s the hardest fight for him always has been, he knows it too

from what I see from actual fights, Parker is about the Best Usyk could fight, much better than those he has fought, generally speaking... a bad showing or a poor performance considered.

my feeling is Parker is basically a better fighter than the others.

If usyk has one fight left and wants to make any big money in doing so it won't be Parker.

Usyk doesn't seem too keen on it. Its not a big money fight for him and will require more work on his part as he has to learn and prepare for a whole new fighter rather than one he has already worked out like Joshua, Fury or Chisora.

I think it will come down to how much Usyk wants to invest in his legacy and put in the hard yards to fight Parker, as opposed to more cashout fights and dropping the WBO.

Also I wasn't happy to see him facing off against Jake Paul in the ring last night and not Parker.

Depends what Usyk wants. Money or legacy. As fans we'd like him to face the best available opponents for glory but he has earned the right to do what he wants.

HW division in a weird place right now with DDD, Parker, Kabayel fighting for belts; AJ, Fury and Usyk looking at cash fights with only 1 or 2 fights left; and Itauma and the new gen still to enter contention.

I can see a scenario where WBO gets vacated with Parker challenging against Kabayel (which is the best option on merit) but wouldn't put it past Edward to muscle AJ in there.

I’m not sure about that I have a feeling that ituma is a bit different but he hasn’t earned the right to fight for a world title yet.
That is what sets Parker apart from the rest he has earned the right to fight usyk and why he’s now mandatory for the wbo, and let’s not forget that he was supposed to be fighting Dubois for the ibf, but Dubois pulled out and never spoke about the reason, I can’t remember another time where a fighter pulled out and didn’t say anything about it (very suspicious to me that was) it looks like he might of got his biCYCLE routine wrong.
Fury got beat twice and then retired and has no belt, he is screaming robbery to try jump the queue for a shot at usyk (this fight probably makes the most sense financially).
Aj been beat and has no title so doesn’t deserve a title shot.
Kabayel is wbc mandatory but he only beat Zhang and he hasn’t really fought anyone else with a decent ranking, also he hasn’t defended his position.
Unlike Parker who is wbo mandatory and has defended his position, missed out on fighting for the ibf because ddd pulled out, he has earned his chance and usyk should give him the opportunity, but it’s not a big sell financially. Unfortunately Jake Paul would generate more money than Parker.
I think it’s probably going to be ituma and I don’t mind that but it’s Parker who deserves it and the one who has earned it.
But you don’t have to earn it anymore in boxing and that’s why Turki bought the ring magazine so he can do his own ranking and give the fights he wants to see more credibility, so based on what Turki has said I think it’s hard to believe it’s going to be anyone else apart from ituma, of course he has to beat Whyte first (which he will in a couple of rounds)

Nobody cares for Parker. The britsih public arn't watching Usyk Vs Parker.

Usyk should not be a co-main to Fury AJ which would sell out a UK stadium

Fury Usyk and AJ Parker 2 co-main will probably happen.

Usyk vs. Parker does 60-70k at Eden Park easily; it's still a huge fight and could do major numbers. The world doesn't revolve around Wembley Stadium. Parker doesn't have a chance at beating Usyk, though, even though he is the only clear opponent who has earned his shot. Fury or Joshua 3 would be embarrassing and would harm Usyk's legacy I think, you can't just keep beating the same opposition over and over again without taking on guys who have rightfully put themselves in the #1 contender spot.

Stylistically he is the best type of opponent to beat Usyk but in reality he is nothing more than a glorified gatekeeper in 2025. The fact he is seen as one of the top dogs says it all about the state of the HW division.

I'm SO Confused by the Parker hype

Are we talking about the same Joe Parker that got beat by Johsua Whyte and Joyce? also the same Joe Parker that looked very pedestrian had a semi-competitive fight and couldn't put a dent in average cruiserweight Jack Massey?

Also last time I checked Parker had to dance around the ring like a fairy against Zhang and still got dropped twice yet Kabayel came forward and took him out with relative ease in 6. if anyone has a punchers chance against Usyk it's Kabayel.

BUT BUT he's on such a ''great run'' he beat a washed Wilder who looked awful and went 7 rounds against a guy that Johnny Fisher would most likely iron out with ease and he beat a very beatable Zhang in unimpressive fashion and beat Bakole who literally had oh that's right ZERO training camp with 24 HOURS notice.

So can someone help me out here?
