Dubois was really poor vs Usyk, was he being overhyped by British media organisations like Talksport?
Frank Warren joined talkSPORT Drive to give his take on Daniel Dubois' pre-fight party and to hit back at allegations of quitting against Oleksandr Usyk.
'Not A Party!' Don Charles DEFENDS 70 people at Daniel Dubois house before Usyk KO with Simon Jordan

    Yes, a bit...

But then also... Usyk has been routinely underrated in the mainstream.

Understandable that his age leaves questions, but he answered them really well.

Yeah probably a bit. But understandable given the way he completely ironed out the bodybuilder .

Now they're inventing excuses: "Dubois didn't prepare well for the fight, he had a party with 70 people previous night, his dad interfered, etc etc".

Usyk KTFO him, that's the ony truth.

Anthony Joshua would be a better example of one being overrated by the British media.

On the scale of AJ, Naseem or Audley for outrageously hyped and realistically rated as Danny Williams, Bruno or even Chisora on the other end, he falls somewhere in the middle.

Everyone is overrated once they lose I guess? Sometimes you just lose to the better man it doesn't mean you are no good.

I think the British media understandably hype their own guys. I'm sure most countries media do it, especially non-english language media.

Its just British media is more dispersed globally and everyone understands English. The French media were hyping Yoka at one point for example but they never get criticism for it because less people speak French and pay attention to French media.

No, not really, by British media standards.
Nowhere near as overrated as Joshua.

the media im talking about here is the talking heads that cover the broadcasts. they dksab so the perspective they translate over to viewers, most of who also dksab, is usually ridiculously skewed to the benefit of the brit fighter. so most viewers believe theyre seeing something, that aint really happening. same thing happens here with certain fighters, for certain reasons. as most old threads you can pull up will attest.

The hype Dubois has received for beating Miller, Hrgovic and Joshua .... is actually less than Joshua received for beating Charles Martin.

Joshua was hype job of the century.

Nobody hyped him up for beating Charles Martin. Everybody and their momma knew Martin was a paper champ. But when he beat Klitschko - the best active heavyweight in the world at the time, he got his deserved props. Brits were of course overrated him a bit, but not to the extent they would overhype Fury for beating Wilder. After that he had a nice title reign where he actually was defeating Top 10 and Top 5 guys, racking up 7 defences in the process. Dubois can't lace AJ's boots when it comes to the being the champion.
