I love Korobov. Even just watching him hit the pads is a joy to watch This content is protected Usyk was stopped on the mercy or outscored rule, meaning Korobov had established a 20 points lead and the fight was automatically stopped once he'd done so and we don't know for sure if he actually was knocked down or have any footage of it. It could've been a slip, a balance issue, a flash KD And, as said, Usyk was skinny 19 y/o MW back then and not just a bit lighter than the version of a couple of years later - 35lbs and the pro version between 35-60lbs lighter I'm not saying he can't be put down or even KO'd if caught by the right shot or sequence of shots. Anyone can. But he's fought over 370 fights amateur and pro, tons of punchers and a whole bunch of the hardest punchers in the sport, and we've never seen him dropped by a head shot or even come close to going down in all the fights which are available and the only piece of evidence we have of an alleged KD is Korobov claiming to have done so and he's not even sure he did and even if he did we have no idea if it was a legit KD, or what kind of KD it was, as in flash or heavy But even if it was a legit KD it would have no bearing on Usyk's chin because he's been a completely different physical specimen since he was 22-23 Headgear won't save you from getting dropped or knocked out Larry Holmes was knocked out twice in the amateurs and dropped and stopped another time David Tua was one punch knocked out in the amateurs at 19 y/o (dropped and in no position to continue legs completely gone) albeit by a huge puncher Loads of great fighters, future world champions, and top contenders were knocked out in the amateurs Mike Tyson was dropped in sparring with headgear on Ali had an iron chin but he was dropped a number of times and heavily by a 22lb lighter Henry Cooper Duran had an iron chin but he was slept by Hearns James Toney had an iron chin but he was dropped and badly hurt by Reggie Johnson Being iron-chinned doesn't mean never getting dropped Either Usyk is the greatest defensive fighter of all time or he has an iron chin. People simultaneously (not directed at you) don't want to give him credit for having a great chin or being a defensive master but both are true.
Usyk has had a grand total of ZERO home country refs and a combined 2 home country judges for all of his world title fights and since he moved up to the world level, after his 9th fight It's not like how they do across the pond where their boys are very often fighting on a stacked deck of a home country ref and three home country judges for world title fights vs foreigners Zero home country refs and a combined 2 home country judges for your world title fights is like a complete inversion of how they do it over there Speaking of Korobov. He lost 119-108 on one of the three home judge's cards vs Jermallo despite sweeping at least the first six rounds, lighting Jermallo up with clean, flush, eye catching and head snapping backhands throughout and winning the fight in the vast majority of observer's eyes. He only gave Korobov one round Does anyone believe AJ won 5 and 7 rounds respectively in the first and second Usyk fights?
Yes he does. He went up against a horse and got knocked out. Utter fraud waiting to be exposed for his glass chin This content is protected
So hes lost 26 rounds in 8 fights, in which the majority of those rounds came against someone who Ali would also likely lose rounds to (Fury). Thats a little more than 3 rounds per fight. Doesnt seem that bad to me compared to the skeletons in other great fighters closets. For example, losing an average of 3.25 rounds a fight is better than LL being folded by Rahman, and Wlad being wiped out in 2 rounds by Sanders, no?
For a champion whose winning all their fights its pretty bad. Because unless a fighter scores a comeback KO the number can't go up. Ali in the 70s might have been worse but thats the 70s and he also had a dominant stretch beforehand. Lennox lost two rounds in the Rahamn loss. Starting with Ruddock Lennox lost 29 rounds in 19 title fights. 1.5 a fight. Less than half Usyks average. In Wlads WBO title reign before the Sanders he dropped 1 round out of 44. So if we add the Sanders fight he was losing 0.4 rounds a title fight. 47 rounds of boxing and his opponent got the better of him 3 times. And this is Wlads weaker reign.
He was never dropped by the legal body shot. Plus everyone was trying to exploit that alleged weakness and nobody succeeded. So no, he doesn't have a suspect glass body.
So you can't find Ls or robberies so you're looking at lost rounds. I've been here for over 14 years and this is the first time I've seen the "lost rounds" tactic. Definition of clutching at straws. Wlad got stretched out by a journeyman. That won rounds ratio don't mean **** clearly. (I know he's not a journeyman)
I know what you're saying and I agree. Usyk is a natural middleweight, one of the fattest guys I've ever seen in contention for the HW title. Not to look at him but he's probably got loads of fat that's just sub-sub-cutaneous, deep in the organ's tissue, underneath the sinews and fascia.
