Subject to Itauma butchering Whyte next month, I’m pretty certain the rough plan is to have Moses v Parker for the vacant WBO belt later in the year. The winner can then face Usyk next year. Obviosuly Frank and Turki are hoping that it ends up being Usyk v Itauma
Way too early for Itauma. That would be very poor managing. Itauma vs. Joyce/AJ/Zhang would be more realistic.
lol wilder Parker was a snooze fest in which barely any punches were thrown. He literally had one good flurry. He couldn’t put Wilder or Zhang down and only out Bakole down because of the farcical circumstances of which you ignore we know he’s zero threat because we’ve watched his whole career and know what he’s about. We don’t know what Itauma is about but he’s exciting in style so far - much more so than Parker who’s the antithesis of excitement. Some of us reckon he’s the next big star in boxing. To suggest Parker is more entertaining match is a **** take lol
Completely agree. Turki is not going to fund a fight that is a cure for insomnia. This is not about who is next in line, its about who we want to see. We've seen Parker over the years, we know his style by now and we can all see he provides zero threat to Usyk. Itauma is the biggest and most exciting prospect in the world at HW. Why not make the fight? Its the fight the fans actually want to watch, we do not want to see a leftover from the previous era who shat it vs AJ and who bored us to tears vs Hughie. That is not a fight that is going to excite the fans or a fight that Turki would fund.
Arguably none of the Heavyweights are elite or atleast on Usyk's level ? So that's irrelevant. He's still a better opponent than anyone Usyk hasn't fought yet unless you really want to see Usyk have a trilogy with Fury ?
It would be absolutely moronic to put a green prospect with 12 professional fights and no world class experience in with an ATG. How about Itauma starts beating a relevant opponent ? so the fight gathers more interest ?
Exactly. The problem is if Parker did go for it more like he did against Joyce (but was bullied around the ring like a little kid- Joyce didn't even take him seriously) he isn't good enough to execute it. For a start, he has no punch power, and secondly, he doesn't have the muscle memory to pull off an effective attacking game plan because he's been boring his whole career. Itauma would plant Parker upside down right now.
No he's not. Parker would be beat by Itauma who'd sent him to Jupiter and he would be beat by Kabayel also. Let's see Parker in with a Bakole who isn't like a sumo and who's had a camp, not two days' notice, several flights, and zero sleep. You have to be kidding me referencing his one punch KO of Bakole.
And yet all 3 of those opponents are way better than anyone Itauma has faced in his career. It's highly debatable Itauma could even beat Zhang his chin has not been tested and he hasn't fought 1 relevant fighter. No i think it's a baffling take that you'd rather a non ranked top 10 Heavyweight prospect with no world class experience going up against an ATG champion. Rather than a top 3 ranked Heavyweight who's deserving of his shot and has beaten 3 top 10 ranked Heavyweights in a row. You just said "We don't know what Itauma is about" and yet you think he's a better match up for Usyk with no evidence of his ability against a world class Heavyweight ? that in itself is an oxymoron.
How is that Parker's fault ? he was scheduled to fight Dubois who pulled out ? and had to find the most dangerous opponent available which he did ? people on this forum were praising the fact that Bakole was the late replacement it's literally the best opponent you could've found at such late notice. And funny thing is a late replacement Bakole would still be considerably better than anyone Itauma has faced.
it's not an oxymoron because it takes more than a "world class heavyweight" to beat Usyk, and we know Parker isn't good enough and that Itauma is very likely much better than Parker, surpassing the "world class heavyweight" tag. Also, area level boxers are better than a sumo Bakole on two days' notice, several flights, and zero hours sleep. That's hilarious. You're going to look stupid very soon bud
Nobody said it was his fault. You are now in the realm of clownery mate. The problem is that you're claiming beating a sumo bakole on two days' notice, no camp, several flights, and zero hours sleep is a feather in Parker's cap. It's a footnote and point of comedy - nothing else. He wasn't the most appropriate opponent because Lawrence Okolie wanted the fight, was told he'd be getting it, lives in Dubai and was in the gym (albeit quite fat). The fact that you think Bakole in those circumstances would be better than Okolie demonstrates your bias
It's a better feather in his cap than anyone Itauma has beaten and that's funny part. And yet you're the same guy who said "we don't know what Itauma is about" and yet in another sentence you're saying he's a better opponent for Usyk ? When you contradict your own statement that Itauma is not proven at all ? so i think that in itself is a clown comment you can't even keep track of what you're saying and contradict your own statements.
None of the relevant prospects want to fight him though. Chisora has laughed it off and says anyone who fights him is an idiot. That speaks for itself. If you are good enough you are old enough.
