Flights where the lack of power made the difference.. I'll give a few Fury vs Usyk 1. If Fury had more power he'd win comfortably Vitali vs Lennox Haney vs Garcia (I know steroids) Meldrick Taylor vs Chavez If you guys can think of others please share
Jack Johnson wouldn't have lost to Willard if he had the power many of the smaller ATGs of his generation demonstrated. He also wouldn't have lost if the fight was anything other 45 rounds but it wouldn't have come to that if Johnson had power. Louis would have beaten Charles and Marciano if he hadn't lost his power during his layoff in 46/47. The Walcott fights would not have been close either. Most of Maxims losses to ATGs could have been flipped if he had power. Most of Tommy Farrs losses period could have been prevented with power. If Valuev had power he would not have lost to Chagaev or Haye. Holyfield might have went undefeated at HW(at least for awhile) if he had the power he demonstrated in the Moorer rematch. Buster Douglas with power is one of the greatest HWs ever all his early losses except Bey(which probably couldn't be helped) wouldn't have happened.
At the top level Douglas has like 2 knockdowns 1 of which is the Tyson knockout. Douglas's main weapon was his jab and all of his big wins were clear decisions. Despite having an 83 inch reach and weighing north of 225 pounds he was clearly a point fighter. A very good point fighter. Power would have put him on a whole other level. I feel when big guys lack power its not really commented on as much. Its more left for you to figure out.
Byrd-Wlad 1 and 2. Byrd would have at least a chance of applying his skill but just had nothing to make Wlad respect him power wise.
And that kd came after 10 rounds of near continuous punishment that Douglas inflicted on Tyson, he really ****ed him up.
Stephen Fulton would've done so much better against Inoue if he had any punch to speak of, not saying he wins but he would win but he would put up a far better performance, as Fulton is clearly a top 3 guy at featherweight with no punch to speak of.
Orlando Romero might have won vs Ray Mancini.....the lack of power ended up probably costing him that fight.
Tiberi vs Toney. If Tiberi had enough power to crack an egg, Toney would have gone home on a stretcher.
Alexis Arguello would have ended Pryor had his power followed him. AA landed some incredible shots but could not crack the potentially junked up brain of Aaron.
Might've not change the outcome much, but I wish Ayub Kalule got better power when he fought Leonard. Same to Oguma for most of his title fights.
If fairness, nobody ever cracked Toney's egg. If Sam Peter couldn't KO him in 24 rounds, no one could. Power doesn't matter against a guy as defensively good as Toney.
