I don't think it's there for him, though. Now, if Garland keeps doubling up on the right hand, it's definitely there for him.

 

Also, they've really gotten things mucked up with the common vernacular meaning of "getting the pink slip". Here that refers to a positive (for the winner) - IRL the phrase usually means getting fired.

 

Strong right hands from Garland, flying up repeatedly at the head of Griggie after tenderizing his body to bring the guard down.

Full hip-swivel uppercuts from Griggie attempting to stand his ground, but he's just too weak to shift Garland or get his respect and keep him off.

Griggie finally got in a rhythm in the 6th, but it was the only round I gave him.

 

Whenever they mention event promoter Branden Rhodes tonight, I keep expecting Cody's wife Brandi to pop out.

 

It was classy of Griggie to acknowledge that he started too slow and that Garland was the better man tonight, and said no he didn't underestimate him when then ring announcer basically spoon-fed him an excuse.
